How to Configure WhatsApp Settings in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The WhatsApp Settings page in Sparkforge is the central console for the WhatsApp Business API integration — numbers, templates, Flows, account status, and subscription — all in one sub-account view.

The WhatsApp Settings page is the central console for managing the WhatsApp Business API inside a Sparkforge sub-account. From here you monitor account health, add phone numbers, build pre-approved templates, create interactive Flows, and manage your subscription.

Open WhatsApp Settings

You can reach the page in two ways:

  • Settings → WhatsApp inside the sub-account.
  • If your agency offers WhatsApp through Agency Dashboard → Reselling, the WhatsApp card on the Integrations page opens onboarding (if not subscribed) or the management view (if subscribed).

The Header card

The header gives a real-time snapshot:

  • Account Status and Meta Business Verification.
  • Total Messages Sent in the last 7 days.
  • Total Messages Delivered in the last 7 days, with a delivery percentage.

The three-dot menu in the top-right offers Disconnect (severs the link, keeps assets) and Cancel Subscription (terminates WhatsApp functionality).

Numbers tab: managing phone lines

The Numbers tab is where you provision phone lines for messaging and launch ad campaigns.

Add a new number

  1. Click + Add Number.
  2. Enter a Display Name — the name users see.
  3. Pick a number from Select from your phone numbers or type one in Add/type new phone number.
  4. Click Proceed and follow Meta’s on-screen verification.

Create an Engagement Ad

Click Create Engagement Ad to be redirected to Meta’s Ad Manager and build a WhatsApp engagement campaign.

Templates tab: pre-approved messages

WhatsApp requires pre-approved templates to start conversations. Use the Templates tab to build and organize them.

Management options

  • WhatsApp Template Rewriter — AI tool to convert marketing templates into utility templates.
  • Create Folder — organize templates as your library grows.

Create a new template

  1. Click + Create Template and choose Blank Template.
  2. Core Details: name, category (Marketing, Utility), language.
  3. Header (optional): Text, Image, Video, Document, or Location. Use + Add Variable for personalization.
  4. Body: primary message content, with variables.
  5. Footer (optional): a short supplementary line.
  6. Buttons (optional): Quick Reply (Custom or Marketing opt-out) or Call-to-Action (Visit website, Call phone number, Copy offer code, or trigger a Flow).
  7. Click Create to submit to Meta for approval.

Flows tab: in-chat experiences

WhatsApp Flows let you run interactive experiences — appointment booking, data capture — inside the chat itself, without sending users out to a website.

Create a new Flow

  1. Click + Create Flow.
  2. Step 1 — Create Flow: enter a Flow Name and link a Sparkforge calendar via Select Calendar for booking. Click Next.
  3. Step 2 — Edit Flow: review the fields the flow asks for (first name, last name, email). The right-side preview shows what the user sees. Click Next.
  4. Step 3 — Add Message Template: fill in Header, Body, Footer, and the Button text that launches the flow (for example, "Book an Appointment"). Click Save as Draft or Publish to submit for approval.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between Disconnect and Cancel Subscription?
Disconnect temporarily severs the link between Sparkforge and your WhatsApp Business Account but keeps your subscription and assets. Cancel Subscription ends WhatsApp functionality entirely.
Why do I need pre-approved message templates?
Meta’s WhatsApp Business Policy requires pre-approved templates to initiate conversations. The rule protects users from spam and is enforced at the platform level.
How long does template approval take?
Meta handles approvals — usually a few minutes to 24 hours. Status appears in the Templates tab.
Can I use a regular WhatsApp number for this integration?
No. The integration uses the WhatsApp Business Platform (API), which requires a phone number not already tied to a regular WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app account. Configure a new or existing eligible number through the Numbers tab.
What can WhatsApp Flows do?
Flows run interactive in-chat experiences — appointment booking against a Sparkforge calendar, data capture, multi-step forms — without sending the user to an external page.
