How to Auto-Promote Affiliates Based on Performance in Sparkforge
The Affiliate Level-Up feature in Sparkforge automatically promotes affiliates to higher-tier campaigns when they hit performance milestones — either a set customer count or revenue amount. Configure the destination campaign and customer-handling rules per campaign.
The Sub-Account Affiliate Manager Level-Up feature promotes affiliates to higher-tier campaigns automatically once they hit a performance milestone. No manual tracking, no missed promotions.
What level-up does
- Moves affiliates to a higher-tier campaign when they reach a customer count or revenue threshold you set.
- Lets you choose whether existing customers stay in the original campaign or follow the affiliate.
- Works across Website, Store, and Funnel campaigns.
How to set it up
- Open Affiliate Campaigns. From the left sidebar, go to Marketing > Affiliate Manager > Campaign.
- Create or open a campaign. Click + Add for a new campaign, or use the search bar to locate an existing one.
- Fill campaign details (new campaigns only). Select traffic source and link the campaign.
- Enable level-up. In the Commissions step, expand Level Up to another Campaign.
- Select destination campaign. Choose the higher-tier campaign affiliates will move into.
- Set the threshold. Pick Customers or Revenue and enter the qualifying number.
- Choose customer handling. Decide whether existing customers stay in the original campaign or move with the affiliate.
- Publish. Review settings, click Next, and publish.
Customer handling options
When an affiliate levels up, their existing customers can either:
- Stay in the original campaign — future commissions track at the original rate.
- Move with the affiliate — future commissions track at the new campaign's rate.
Limits to know
- Level-up triggers only on quantitative thresholds (Customers or Revenue) — not tags, attributes, or manual filters.
- Scope is per sub-account. Multi-sub-account programs need manual replication.
- There's no native pause button. To halt level-up, switch the destination dropdown back to "No level up campaign."
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I pause level-up automation temporarily?
There's no native pause button. To stop it, switch the destination dropdown to "No level up campaign," then reconfigure when you want to resume.
Does level-up work across sub-accounts?
No. Level-up is scoped to a single sub-account. Multi-sub-account programs require manual replication of the campaign and affiliate configuration.
What happens if a product is removed from the source campaign?
Already-promoted affiliates aren't affected. Future commissions for that product stop tracking in the original campaign. If the product also exists in the destination campaign, future purchases track there based on your customer-handling rule.
Can I use tags or attributes to control who qualifies?
Not directly. Level-up only triggers on customer count or revenue. You can use workflows to assign tags after a level-up event for downstream automation.
What campaign types support level-up?
Website, Store, and Funnel campaigns all support level-up promotions.
