How to Set Custom Affiliate Commissions in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge's affiliate-level commission settings let you override campaign defaults for individual affiliates — useful for paying top performers more without rewriting the whole campaign. Affiliate-level rates always take precedence.

Sometimes a campaign-level commission rate doesn't fit every affiliate. Maybe one affiliate moves 10x the volume of the rest, or you negotiated a special deal with a partner. Sparkforge's Affiliate-Level Commission Settings let you override the campaign rate for specific affiliates without touching the rest of the program.

What you can do

  • Set custom commission rates per affiliate, overriding the campaign default.
  • Manage tiered commissions for multi-tier campaigns at the affiliate level.
  • Reward top performers with higher rates without affecting other affiliates.

Example

Your campaign default is 40%. One affiliate consistently drives high-value sales, so you bump them to 50% — without changing what every other affiliate earns.

Steps to configure

Step 1: Open the Sub Account Affiliate Manager

Log into Sparkforge and go to Affiliate Manager.

Step 2: Select the affiliate

Find the affiliate you want to customize and open their profile page.

Step 3: Choose the campaign

Scroll to Active Referral Links and click Customize next to the campaign you're adjusting.

Step 4: Configure the commission

  1. Switch to the Commissions tab.
  2. Enter the custom commission rate.
  3. For multi-tier campaigns, set the rate for each tier.
  4. Adjust both Default Commissions and Product-Based Commissions as needed.
  5. Save.

Important notes

  • Precedence — affiliate-level settings always override campaign-level settings during commission calculation.
  • Tier management — tiers themselves can't be edited from the affiliate profile. To change tier structure, edit the campaign.
  • Source requirement — currently supported only for affiliate campaigns where the source is a Sparkforge funnel or website.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I set both campaign and affiliate commission rates?
The affiliate-level rate wins. Sparkforge always uses the affiliate's custom rate when calculating commissions, ignoring the campaign default for that affiliate.
Can I set custom commissions for multi-tier campaigns?
Yes. In the affiliate's Commissions tab, you can set a rate for each tier. To change the tier structure itself, edit the campaign settings.
Does this work for product-based commissions too?
Yes. You can override both default and product-based commission rates per affiliate.
Are external campaigns supported?
Not currently. Affiliate-level commission settings work only when the campaign source is a Sparkforge funnel or website.
Will existing pending commissions recalculate when I change the rate?
No. The new rate applies to commissions earned going forward. Past commissions keep the rate they were calculated under.
