How to Add Manual Affiliate Sales in Sparkforge
Sparkforge lets admins manually attribute sales to affiliates when the referral link wasn't used — through existing transactions, new offline sales, or workflow automation. Commission is calculated from the campaign's default rate.
Manual Sale Attribution credits affiliates for sales their link didn't track — offline events, word-of-mouth referrals, or any deal where the customer skipped the referral URL. Sparkforge gives you three ways to do it.
When to use manual attribution
- Offline sales — affiliates promoting at events, conferences, or in-person.
- Untracked sales — the customer was referred but didn't click the affiliate link.
- Customer referrals — word-of-mouth recommendations without any link click.
Method 1: Use an existing transaction
If the sale already exists in Sparkforge, link it to an affiliate retroactively.
- Open the Affiliate Manager.
- Select the affiliate's profile and go to the Commissions tab.
- Click Add Sales Manually and choose Import Existing Transaction.
- Enter the customer's email and select the campaign.
- Review the matching transactions and select the one to attribute.
- Confirm and submit.
Method 2: Add a new sale (no transaction exists)
For offline or external sales that aren't in Sparkforge yet:
- Open Sub Account Affiliate Manager and go to the affiliate profile.
- Scroll to the Commissions tab and click Add Sales Manually.
- If the lead or customer doesn't exist, add them as a new lead.
- Enter the transaction amount. Commission is calculated automatically from the campaign's default rate.
- Optionally add transaction date and reference number.
- Submit and save.
Example: Enter a $100 sale on a campaign with a 20% default commission, and the affiliate is credited $20 automatically.
Method 3: Workflow automation
For recurring or batch attribution, use the workflow action Add Manual Sales For An Affiliate:
- Add the action to a workflow.
- Choose first or latest attribution (which affiliate interaction wins).
- Select the affiliate campaign and enter revenue details.
- Save the workflow.
Why use manual attribution
- Flexibility — credit sales from any source, on or offline.
- Accuracy — every affiliate-driven sale gets tracked, link or no link.
- Custom tracking — works even when standard tracking mechanisms didn't fire.
