How to Track Affiliate Sales with Coupon Codes in Sparkforge

Referral links work everywhere — except platforms like Instagram where link sharing is restricted. Sparkforge gives affiliates a second tracking option: coupon codes. When a customer redeems an affiliate's coupon, the sale gets attributed to that affiliate the same way a link click would.

What coupon code tracking gets you

• Discount flexibility — offer real discounts to an affiliate's audience as a promotional hook.
• Customizable discount range — anywhere from 0% (tracking-only) to 100% (free service).
• Platform-agnostic tracking — works on Instagram, TikTok, podcasts, print ads, anywhere a URL doesn't fit.

Set up a coupon code

Step 1: Open the Affiliate Manager

Go to Marketing → Affiliate Manager.

Step 2: Select the affiliate

In the Affiliate/Promoter module, find and open the affiliate.

Step 3: Customize the campaign

Scroll to Active Referral Links. Click Customize next to the campaign you want a coupon for.

Step 4: Configure the coupon

1. Switch to the Coupon tab.
2. Choose the coupon type: Percentage or Fixed.
3. Enter a user-friendly coupon name (something the affiliate's audience will type easily).
4. Click Generate Code.

Step 5: Set the discount

• 100% — for free services or giveaways.
• 1-99% — standard percentage discount.
• 0% — tracking-only, no discount applied.

Step 6: Save

Click Save to finalize. Existing codes can be edited from the same window.

Best practices

• Keep coupon names short and easy to spell — think JANE20, not JANES_DISCOUNT_2026.
• Review and rotate coupons periodically to align with current promotions.
• Pair coupons with a referral link so affiliates can promote on every channel.
