How to Load Dashboards via Snapshots in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Build a dashboard once in a source account, save it as an agency snapshot, then load that snapshot into any sub-account. Private dashboards are excluded — only non-private dashboards can move via snapshot.

Snapshots let agency users package a configured account and apply it to other locations. Dashboards are one of the asset types you can move this way, which means you can stop rebuilding the same reporting in every new sub-account.

Step 1: Open Account Snapshots

From the Agency view, navigate to the Account Snapshots page.

Step 2: Create a new snapshot

Click Create New Snapshot, give it a name, and choose the source account that has the dashboard setup you want to clone.

Step 3: Save the snapshot

Save it. The new snapshot appears in your snapshot list.

Step 4: Pick a target location

Either create a new sub-account to load into, or pick an existing one from the list.

Step 5: Load the snapshot

Click Actions > Load Snapshot and search for the snapshot you just created.

Step 6: Select dashboards

In the asset list, find the dashboard category and check the dashboards you want to load.

  • Private dashboards excluded. Private dashboards do not appear in the snapshot asset list. If you need one in the snapshot, make it non-private first.
  • Default dashboards. Select your default dashboard from the list so the target location uses the same default.

Step 7: Confirm and load

Confirm your selections and proceed. Sparkforge notifies you when the load completes.

Step 8: Verify the result

Open the target location and check the dashboard list. The loaded dashboards should be there with their widgets, conditions, filters, and custom widgets in place.

Include linked assets

Dashboards depend on other assets — custom values, pipelines, and similar. Include those in the snapshot too. If you skip them, widgets that reference missing properties will throw an error on load. Edit each flagged widget to fix the reference and save to clear the error.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I move private dashboards via snapshot?
No. Private dashboards are excluded from the snapshot asset list. Make the dashboard non-private first if you want it included.
What happens to widget filters and conditions?
They come along with the dashboard. Widgets retain their conditions, filters, and custom widgets when loaded into the target sub-account.
Why are some widgets erroring after I load the snapshot?
They reference assets that didn't come along — usually custom values or pipelines. Include those in the snapshot, or edit the widget to point at assets that exist in the target account.
Can I overwrite an existing dashboard with a snapshot load?
No. The load adds the dashboards from the snapshot to the target account's dashboard list.
