How to Edit a Dashboard in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Open the dashboard, click the pencil icon to enter edit mode, change the name or widgets as needed, and click Save Changes. Only owners can edit.

Editing a dashboard means changing its name, permissions, or widget set. The owner is the only one who can edit — viewers and editors-without-Full-access need to ask the owner.

Edit a dashboard

1. Open the dashboard

Navigate to the specific dashboard you want to change.

2. Enter edit mode

Click the pencil icon in the top-right corner.

3. Update the name

If the current name doesn't match the dashboard's purpose anymore, type a new one.

4. Add or modify widgets

Click Add Widgets to insert new widgets. Existing widgets edit in place — click any widget to open its settings panel.

5. Save

Click Save Changes to commit and exit edit mode. Bailing without saving discards everything you changed.

Custom dashboards and widgets are included in all paid Sparkforge plans.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I see the pencil edit icon?
You're not the owner of the dashboard. Only owners and Full-access roles can enter edit mode.
Can I undo a saved edit?
There's no built-in undo after Save Changes. Either re-edit manually or restore from a clone if you kept one.
Will editing a shared dashboard notify other viewers?
No automatic notification. Other users see the new layout the next time they load the dashboard.
Does editing change the dashboard's permissions?
No. Permissions are managed separately via the action menu's Manage Permissions option.
