How to Clone a Sub-account Dashboard in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Open the source dashboard, click the 3-dot action menu, choose Clone, name the copy, set its permissions, and click Clone to save.

Cloning copies a dashboard inside the same sub-account so you can reuse the layout and widget setup without rebuilding it. To copy across sub-accounts, use Duplicate instead.

Clone a dashboard

1. Open the source dashboard

Go to Sub-account → Dashboard. Use the Dashboard Selection menu to find and open the dashboard you want to copy.

2. Click Clone

On the source dashboard, click the 3-dot action menu and select Clone.

3. Configure and save

In the Clone Dashboard modal, type a title for the copy, set its privacy and access permissions, then click Clone. The new dashboard lands in the same sub-account with your chosen settings.

The copy starts independent of the original — edits to one don't propagate to the other.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does cloning copy the data sources too?
Inside the same sub-account, yes — widgets keep their connections. Cross-sub-account uses Duplicate, where data sources may need reconnection.
Can I clone someone else's dashboard?
You need at least Edit or Full access to clone. View-only users can also clone in some configurations — check your role's permissions.
Will the clone keep the original's permissions?
You set permissions fresh in the Clone Dashboard modal. The original's settings don't carry over automatically.
How is Clone different from Duplicate?
Clone copies inside the same sub-account. Duplicate copies to a different sub-account and may need data sources reconnected.
