Pre-Built Contact Segments for Email Campaigns in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Pre-built contact segments let you send email campaigns to contacts engaged in the last 7, 30, or 60 days, or to contacts who did or did not interact with your last 5 campaigns. Pick the segment on the send/schedule screen.

Pre-built contact segments are predefined audiences inside the Sparkforge email builder. Select one on the send or schedule screen to target contacts by recent engagement without building a smart list from scratch.

What pre-built segments include

Sparkforge ships these segments out of the box:

  • Contacts engaged within the last 7 days
  • Contacts engaged within the last 30 days
  • Contacts engaged within the last 60 days
  • Contacts who interacted with your last 5 email campaigns
  • Contacts who did not interact with your last 5 email campaigns

Engaged means the contact opened or clicked an email sent through workflows, bulk actions, or email marketing campaigns. Subscribers is the same as contacts.

How to use a pre-built segment

  1. Go to Email Marketing > Campaigns.
  2. Create a campaign and proceed to the send or schedule screen.
  3. In the recipient list, select Pre-Built Segments.
  4. Pick a segment from the drop-down.
  5. Send or schedule the email.

Segmentation locks at scheduling time, not at execution. Dynamic segment updates during execution are on the roadmap.

When to use which segment

Engaged in last 7/30/60 days

Use these for time-sensitive offers, new product launches, and content most likely to convert your active audience.

Interacted with last 5 campaigns

Best for follow-up sequences and loyalty messages — contacts already paying attention.

Did not interact with last 5 campaigns

Use for re-engagement and win-back. Send a different angle, a stronger offer, or a sunset confirmation before pruning the list.

If you need custom criteria

Pre-built segment criteria are fixed. To customize, build a smart list under the Contacts page that mimics the segment, then adjust filters as needed.
