Conversations AI Image Response in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Conversations AI Image Response lets Sparkforge bots interpret customer-shared images (JPG, JPEG, PNG) and reply with context-aware messages on Live Chat, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and SMS/MMS in the U.S. and Canada.

Conversations AI Image Response lets Sparkforge bots understand and reply to images contacts share — product photos, screenshots, receipts, menus, documents — instead of asking the contact to describe what they see.

What It Does

When a contact sends a supported image, the bot analyzes it and uses the visual context to craft a reply that fits the conversation. Multiple images sent together get a single, coherent response.

Supported Image Types

  • JPG (.jpg)
  • JPEG (.jpeg)
  • PNG (.png)
  • HEIC (.heic) — coming soon

Channel Compatibility

  • Live Chat (web widget)
  • Facebook Messenger
  • Instagram Direct Messages
  • WhatsApp
  • SMS/MMS (U.S. and Canada)

Delivery and size limits vary by channel and carrier. Check channel policies for large or high-resolution images.

Multi-Image Support

When several images arrive together, the bot processes them as a group and responds once with references to relevant visual details, instead of replying separately to each image.

Enable Image Responses

  1. From the sub-account, go to AI Agents → Conversation AI → Agent List.
  2. Click the three dots next to the bot you want to configure and select Edit.
  3. Toggle Also allow this bot to respond to: Images on.
  4. Save.
  5. Test by sending a JPG or PNG from Live Chat or a social channel and confirm the reply references the image.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an extra fee?
No add-on is required. Standard messaging rates and any applicable AI usage in your account apply.
What image size is supported?
Limits vary by channel and carrier. JPG and PNG within each channel's recommended maximum work best.
Will images sent during workflow-initiated conversations be analyzed?
Yes, if the workflow routes the conversation to a bot with Images enabled. The image is analyzed and answered in the same thread.
Can I enable Image Response on some channels but not others?
The setting is per bot and applies to all channels that bot handles. Route conversations to different bots if you need different behavior per channel.
Does it handle HEIC from iPhone?
HEIC support is coming soon. Until then, ask users to resend as JPG or PNG, or have them set their device to capture in a compatible format.
Why did the response feel generic?
Low quality, heavy compression, or missing context can reduce accuracy. Ask for a clearer image and a short note describing the issue.
