Conversation AI Email Channel Support in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Conversation AI now responds to inbound email inside Sparkforge with full thread continuity, branded or plain-text replies, language detection, and the same workflow and handover actions as your other bot channels.

Conversation AI Email Channel Support lets your bot reply to inbound emails using the same automation that already runs on your other Conversation AI channels. Email becomes a real channel for automated lead and customer response — not a one-off integration.

What it does

When an inbound email reaches a connected inbox, the bot reads the message, understands context, and sends a reply while preserving subject continuity, thread history, and recipient handling. It works across Sparkforge Email, Custom Email SMTP, and Custom Conversation Email providers.

What you get

  • Faster first responses on inbound email so leads do not wait.
  • Consistent voice across email and other Conversation AI channels.
  • Automatic language detection so replies come back in the contact's language.
  • Agentic actions such as workflow triggers and human handover.
  • Cleaner threads because replies stay in the original conversation.
  • Operational controls like CC, BCC, and configurable response delay.

Channel settings

When you enable Email as a supported channel for a bot, configure:

  • Sender name
  • From address
  • Default CC and BCC recipients
  • Greeting personalization
  • Sign-off and signature
  • Response delay
  • Plain text or branded template formatting

Personalization, threading, and agentic actions

Personalization

Customize greetings, sign-offs, and signatures so replies feel like a person on your team — not a bot.

Language detection

Conversation AI detects the inbound email language and replies in the same language. Useful for any audience that spans regions.

Threading

Replies stay in the original thread, keeping subject lines and history continuous so contacts and your team can follow a conversation end to end.

Agentic actions

The same actions you use on chat work on email: trigger a workflow, hand over to a human, update the CRM, or escalate based on intent.

How to enable Email as a Conversation AI channel

  1. Open Conversation AI and select the bot you want to update.
  2. Add Email as a supported channel.

  7. Test with a real inbound email before enabling it broadly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which email setups are supported?
Sparkforge Email, Custom Email SMTP, and Custom Conversation Email providers are all supported.

Conversation AI auto-detects the inbound language and replies in that same language by default. Override behavior in the bot settings if you need a fixed language.
Will email replies stay in the same thread?
Yes. The bot preserves subject continuity, thread history, and recipient handling so replies remain part of the original conversation.
Can I use a branded HTML template?
Yes. Choose the Design Editor format and place the required AI response placeholder where the generated reply should appear.
Does email support workflow triggers and handover?
Yes. Agentic actions such as workflow triggers and human handover work on the email channel just like other Conversation AI channels.
