Set Bot Status Per Contact in Sparkforge Conversation AI
Sparkforge Conversation AI lets you toggle bot status on a per-contact basis from the Message Composer. Active responds to all messages, Sleep pauses temporarily with a wake timer, and Inactive stays off until you turn it back on.
Sparkforge Conversation AI bots can be toggled on or off for individual contacts straight from the Message Composer. This is the right level of control when one contact needs a human in the loop while every other conversation runs on AI.
The three states
- Active: The bot responds to every incoming message.
- Sleep / Snooze: The bot is paused, either manually or automatically (for example after a manual or workflow message, or when message limits are hit).
- Inactive: The bot stays off until manually reactivated.
Sleep timers let the bot wake up and resume on a schedule.
Step 1: open the bot status control
Open Conversations and select a contact. The Message Composer shows the bot's current status, marked by a green online icon when active.
Step 2: turn the bot off for a contact
- Click the bot status icon in the Message Composer.
- Select Inactive from the dropdown.
- Optionally, set a duration for the bot to wake itself back up.
- To keep the bot off permanently for that contact, leave the wake checkbox unchecked.
The status icon updates to show the bot is off for that contact.
Automatic sleep triggers
The bot automatically sleeps in a few cases:
- The contact's message limit is reached.
- A manual or workflow message is sent on that conversation.
Per-contact bot status only works when the bot is in Suggestive or Auto-Pilot mode.
