Why X (Twitter) Is Not Available in Sparkforge Social Planner

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

X (formerly Twitter) was removed from the Social Planner on December 4, 2024 because the enterprise V2 API would have cost $42,000/month. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, and TikTok are unaffected.

On December 4, 2024, the X (formerly Twitter) integration was disabled in the Social Planner. You can no longer create, schedule, or post directly to X from Sparkforge.

What changed

  • X cannot be connected in the Connections tab.
  • Existing scheduled X posts no longer publish.
  • All other social integrations work normally — Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, and TikTok.

Why it was removed

X changed its API access requirements. The new enterprise V2 API tier would have added a substantial monthly fee that would have been passed on to customers. After negotiations to secure an exemption failed, the integration was disabled rather than absorb or pass through the cost.

The numbers

  • $42,000/month for enterprise V2 X API access ($504,000/year).
  • Cost would have hit every customer using the Social Planner.

What about bring-your-own API keys?

Technically possible, but not viable as a long-term solution. Per-account API keys would shift the cost and compliance burden onto each user without solving the core problem.

What's next

X remains relevant in the social media landscape, and the team continues monitoring its API requirements. If conditions change, the integration may return with updated functionality and compliance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I still post to X from Sparkforge?
No. The integration was disabled on December 4, 2024. Post directly through X or use a third-party scheduler that has paid for enterprise V2 API access.
Did this affect my other social connections?
No. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, and TikTok are unaffected and continue to work normally in the Social Planner.
Why couldn't you just charge users for X access?
The enterprise V2 cost was $42,000/month. Pricing that into every customer's bill — even those who never used X — would have been unfair, and pricing it as an add-on for X users alone wouldn't have hit the volume needed to cover the cost.
Will X come back?
Possibly. If X's API pricing or terms change, the integration may return. There's no committed timeline.
