How to Use Social Listening
- In your sub-account, open Social Planner and click the Social Listening tab.
- Pick a data source. Scroll the list and the selected card highlights with full insights.
- Apply date filters to narrow the time range.
Clicking a trend card opens the source's website in a new tab so you can dig into the original chart or dataset. Wikipedia Pageviews cards, for instance, open the official Pageviews tool with the article preselected. Changes on the external site don't affect your Sparkforge data.
Use Cases
- Weekly content planning: Pull 3–5 high-signal topics across Google and YouTube, draft posts immediately with Add to Planner.
- Localized campaigns: Compare regions for sources that support location, then tailor copy and offers per market.
- YouTube discovery to script: Use Popular Keywords for hooks and titles, then study Trending Videos for pacing and format cues.
- Seasonal content: Combine Pinterest growth % with Wikipedia pageview trends to time guides and checklists.
- Thought leadership: Validate a rising concept with Google Trends + Wikipedia, then publish timely explainers or FAQs.
- Creator research: Track YouTube Popular Channels for collaboration prospects and competitive context.
Best Practices
- Triangulate sources. Validate ideas across at least two sources before committing resources.
- Mind the half-life. Trends decay fast — aim to draft and schedule within 24–72 hours of detection.
- Cite the source in your post brief so the team knows why a topic was picked.
- Brand safety. Avoid sensitive or misleading topics. Cross-check with authoritative references.
- Use templates. Keep title, thumbnail, and caption frameworks ready. Use Ask AI to adapt tone per network.
- Measure intentionally. Tag Social Listening posts with a consistent label so you can compare results in analytics.
