How to Set Certificate Expiry Reminder Frequency in Sparkforge

Sparkforge now lets you customize how far in advance certificate expiry reminders are sent. The default 2-day and 7-day intervals can be overridden at the template level or on individual issued certificates.

• Send notifications when they’re actually useful, not on a fixed schedule.
• Toggle individual reminder emails on or off.

Set Custom Reminder Intervals

Step 1: Open Certificate Settings

1. Sign in to your account.
2. Open Membership → Certificates.

Step 2: Edit Reminder Preferences on a Template

Adding an expiry date at the template level means every certificate issued from that template expires on the same date.

1. Locate the template you want to update.
2. Click the three-dot menu and choose Set Expiry.
3. Pick the expiry date.
4. Choose 1 or 2 reminder emails and toggle each on/off.
5. Set the day count for each reminder. Each email sends that many days before the expiry date.

Step 3: Customize at the Issued Certificate Level

The same controls are available under Issued Certificates for per-recipient customization.

Important Notes

• If Immediately is selected, only the certificate-expired email goes out on the day of expiry.
• Reminder emails scheduled before this update keep using the default 2-day and 7-day intervals until you adjust them manually.
