Set Manual Expiry Dates on Certificate Templates in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge certificate templates accept either a specific expiry date or a never-expire setting. Both are configured from the template's three-dot menu under Certificates.

Certificate templates in Sparkforge can carry a fixed expiry date or no expiry at all. Both options live behind the three-dot menu on the template.

Set a specific expiry date

  1. Open Certificates from the dashboard.
  2. Select the template to edit.
  3. Click the three-dot icon and pick Set a Date.
  4. Choose the expiry date from the calendar — a preview shows the selected date.
  5. Click Set Expiry to save.

Set never-expire (or remove an existing date)

  1. Open Certificates.
  2. Select the template.
  3. Click the three-dot icon and pick Never.
  4. The preview confirms the template will never expire.
  5. Click Set Expiry to apply.

The expiry setting applies at the template level. Certificates already issued from the template keep their original expiry — only newly issued certificates pick up the change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I change the expiry on a certificate template?
Open Certificates, select the template, click the three-dot menu, and pick Set a Date or Never. Click Set Expiry to save.
Can I remove an expiry date that's already set?
Yes. Use the three-dot menu, pick Never, then click Set Expiry. The template will issue with no expiration going forward.
Does changing the template expiry affect certificates already issued?
No. Existing certificates keep their original expiry. Only certificates issued after the change use the new setting.
Can I set different expiry dates per recipient?
The setting documented here is template-level. Per-recipient overrides depend on how you issue the certificate — check the issue flow for individual date controls.
