How to Refresh and Update a Snapshot in Sparkforge
Snapshots don't auto-update. Click Refresh next to the snapshot to capture new changes from the source sub-account, then use Push Updates to sync the changes to linked sub-accounts inside your agency.
Snapshots are point-in-time clones. When you make changes to a source sub-account — new workflows, forms, or funnels — the snapshot does not update on its own. Refresh it manually to make new changes available for future imports or pushes.
Refresh a snapshot
- Open Agency View and click Account Snapshots in the left menu.
- Find the snapshot to update and click the Refresh icon next to it.
- Select the new or modified assets to include.
- Click Refresh to finalize.
Sparkforge loads the selected assets from the source sub-account and shows a progress indicator. If some assets fail to load, the refresh continues for the rest instead of stopping the whole job.
Retry failed assets
Failed assets are flagged while the rest finish. You can retry only the failed assets instead of restarting the whole refresh — useful for fixing intermittent timeouts without redoing the entire job.
Workflow contact cleanup after refresh
If a refresh removes steps inside a workflow that came from the snapshot (for example, deleting a wait step), Sparkforge automatically removes contacts that were waiting on the deleted step so they don't get stuck.
- A one-time notice appears the next time you open the affected workflow.
- Execution Logs show an entry labeled Removed by - Snapshot Refresh with details in the side panel.
This applies only to workflows created from snapshots when a refresh deletes steps. Deleting a step manually inside a workflow already removes waiting contacts.
Push updates after refreshing
Once refreshed, the snapshot shows a Push Update button. Use it to:
- Select sub-accounts that previously imported this snapshot.
- Choose which assets to push (for example, only workflows or specific forms).
- Sync updates without reloading the entire snapshot.
Important: push updates only work for sub-accounts inside your own agency. External agencies must re-import using a new shared link.
Quick checks before you push
- Always refresh before sharing or pushing updates.
- Push updates are selective, not destructive — unselected items stay safe.
- Custom values, users, and items duplicated by clients are not touched.
