How to Create a New Contact in Sparkforge
Add a contact in Sparkforge from Contacts > Add Contact. Forms and surveys also create contacts automatically when a new lead submits.
Contacts are the foundation for every conversation, automation, and pipeline in Sparkforge. This article covers creating, editing, and deleting contacts, plus setting up custom fields so the data you collect actually fits your business.
Create a new contact
- Open Contacts from the main menu.
- Click Add Contact.
- Fill in name, email, phone, and any other fields.
- Click Save.
If a field you need is missing, use Create New Custom Field from the same screen. The more complete a record, the easier it is to personalize automations and segments later.
Forms and surveys also create contacts automatically. When a new lead submits a Sparkforge form, a contact record is created without manual entry.
Edit an existing contact
- Open Contacts.
- Click the contact row to open the contact card.
- Update fields on the left-hand panel.
- Click Save.
Delete a contact
Deleting a contact also removes their conversations, notes, opportunities, tasks, appointments, manual actions, and community group ownership. Active campaigns and workflows for the contact stop running.
Deleted contacts can be restored within two months.
- Open Contacts.
- Tick the checkbox next to the contact.
- Click Delete.
- Type
DELETEin the confirmation popup. - Click Delete to confirm.
Create a custom field
Custom fields capture the data standard fields don't cover — service type, lead source detail, account number, anything specific to your operation.
- Go to Settings → Custom Fields.
- Click Add Field.
- Choose the field type (text, dropdown, date, number, etc.).
- Fill in name, group, and placeholder so your team knows what to enter.
- Click Save.
