How to Set Up Automated Email and SMS Follow-Up in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Set up automated follow-up in Sparkforge under Automation > Workflows. Use the Email Drip Sequence recipe for email, build from scratch with a Form Submitted trigger plus Send SMS action for SMS, and add a Drip action for batched delivery.

Automated workflows handle follow-up so you don't have to remember. Sparkforge fires email and SMS sequences off triggers like form submissions, then drips messages in batches you control.

Email follow-up from a form submission

  1. Go to Automation.
  2. Click Create Workflow → Select a Recipe.
  3. Choose Email Drip Sequence.
  4. Configure the trigger Form Submitted: click Add filter, set Form is, pick the form, click Save.
  5. Edit each email action (subject, message, attachments) and click Save Action.
  6. Click Publish.
  7. Click Save.

SMS follow-up from a form submission

SMS opens fast and stays top-of-mind. Pair it with email drips for layered follow-up.

  1. Go to Automation.
  2. Click Create Workflow → Start from scratch.
  3. Add the trigger Form Submitted: click Add filter, set Form is, pick the form, click Save.
  4. Add the Send SMS action and write the message clearly. Click Save Action.
  5. Add a Drip action before Send SMS.
  6. Set batch size to 100 and the drip interval to every 1 day. Click Save Action.
  7. Click Publish.
  8. Click Save.

Why drip in batches

Sending 1,000 SMS at once can flag carrier filters and tank deliverability. Batching 100 per day keeps sends within carrier expectations and protects the number's reputation. The same logic applies to large email lists.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why put the Drip action before Send SMS?
The Drip action throttles how many contacts hit the next step per batch. Placing it before Send SMS spreads sends over time instead of blasting everyone at once.
What batch size should I use?
100 per day is a safe starting point for SMS. Adjust based on your number's history, total list size, and how time-sensitive the message is.
Can I trigger on something other than form submissions?
Yes. Sparkforge supports triggers like Contact Tag Applied, Appointment Booked, Payment Received, Call Status, Survey Submitted, Facebook Lead Form, and many more. The Send action stays the same; swap the trigger to fit the use case.
Do I need to publish the workflow?
Yes. Workflows in draft don't fire. Click Publish, then Save, before testing with a real form submission.
