Accept In-Person Payments with Square in the Sparkforge Mobile App
The Sparkforge mobile app supports Square for in-person payments — cards on file, manual card entry, Bluetooth Square Reader (iOS), and Tap to Pay. Available in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia through public beta.
Square is now a payment provider inside the Sparkforge mobile app. Take in-person payments at the job site, the booth, or the salon chair without a separate Square Point of Sale app.
Where it works
The Mobile Payments SDK is currently available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. The feature is part of the Sparkforge mobile public beta — you'll need to opt into the beta to access it.
Connect Square
- Open Payments > Integrations on the Sparkforge web platform.
- Connect your Square account. If it's already connected, re-initiate the connection so mobile compatibility is enabled.
- Pick an active Square Location under Square Live Mode.
Enroll in the public beta
Join the Sparkforge mobile public beta to get the Square mobile features. Without beta access, the new payment methods won't appear in the app.
Optional: link a Square Reader (iOS)
- Open the mobile app.
- Go to Settings > Square Payment Devices.
- Follow the Bluetooth pairing prompts to connect the Reader.
Square Reader is iOS-only for now. Android compatibility is under review.
Run a transaction
- Open the mobile app and pick the sub-account connected to Square.
- Tap POS and start a transaction.
- Enter a custom amount or add items from the product catalog.
- Link a contact to the transaction.
- Choose Square Payments as the method.
- Tap or insert the card via the Reader, or pick Manual Card Entry to type details.
- Tap Charge to complete.
Cards on File
Saved cards on a contact appear at checkout. Charge an existing card or save a new one for future transactions during a payment screen — the card is tokenized through Square, not stored in plaintext.
Manual Card Entry
Type card details inside the app. Useful for phone orders or any situation where a Reader isn't practical.
Tap to Pay
Tap to Pay for Square is supported. Accept contactless cards and mobile wallets directly on a compatible iOS device — no Reader required.
