How to Add Custom Fields to Dashboard Table Widgets in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge dashboards now let you select custom fields as columns in Contacts and Opportunities table widgets, plus a new Birthdate column for Contacts. No admin permission required beyond dashboard edit access.

Custom fields are now selectable as columns inside Contacts and Opportunities table widgets. Add the data points you actually track — deal source, lead score, anniversary date, anything custom — directly to your dashboards and custom reports.

What’s Available

  • Custom field columns in Contacts and Opportunities table widgets.
  • Birthdate column added as a built-in option for Contacts widgets.
  • Dashboards and Custom Reports both support these fields.

Add a Custom Field to a Table Widget

  1. Open the dashboard or custom report and click Edit.
  2. Click Add Widget and choose a Contacts or Opportunities table widget.
  3. Open the column selector inside that widget.
  4. Check the custom fields you want displayed.
  5. Click Save.

Selected columns now render in the table view alongside the standard fields.

Permissions

You only need permission to edit the dashboard or report. There’s no separate setting to enable custom fields as columns.

What This Doesn’t Change

Adding fields to a widget is a display change. It does not modify contact records, alter the underlying data, or affect existing automations referencing those fields.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which widgets support custom fields as columns?
Contacts and Opportunities table widgets. Other widget types use their existing column sets.
Are custom fields available in custom reports too?
Yes. The same field selector appears in both dashboards and the Custom Reports builder.
Is Birthdate available everywhere?
Birthdate is currently a selectable column for Contacts widgets specifically.
Do I need admin permissions to add fields?
No. Standard dashboard or report edit permissions are enough — no extra configuration is required.
Does adding a field as a column change the data?
No. It’s purely a view change. The contact record and any field values stay exactly as they were.
