How to Use the Phone Dialer in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Sparkforge Phone Dialer is a browser-based calling interface that handles dialing, transfers, contact lookup, post-call notes, IVR navigation, and voicemail in one panel. Enable it under Settings > Phone System and grant microphone access.

The Phone Dialer is the browser-based calling interface inside Sparkforge. It handles outbound and inbound calls, transfers, real-time contact search, post-call notes and tags, full IVR navigation via DTMF, and a voicemail inbox with transcriptions.

What the Phone Dialer Does

The dialer centralizes call activities into one panel so you stop bouncing between screens. Click the dialer icon to open the keypad, start typing a number, and matching contacts surface as you type.

  • Call transfer: Transfer inbound and outbound calls without leaving the dialer. Notes and tags stay linked to the contact record.
  • Real-time contact lookup: Live search across your CRM as you dial.
  • One-tap access: Toggle between Contacts and Recent Calls inside the dialer.
  • Post-call notes and tags: The Recents screen prompts for notes and tags after each call.
  • Full IVR navigation: Send DTMF tones from the on-screen dialpad or your keyboard during a live call.
  • Voicemail inbox: Each voicemail card includes playback, transcription, and one-click follow-up actions.

How to Set Up the Phone Dialer

  1. Go to Settings > Phone System.
  2. Enable the dialer under Dialer Settings.
  3. Grant microphone and browser permissions when prompted.
  4. Set your Call Transfer preferences (warm or blind).
  5. Save, then click the Dialer icon in the sidebar to start calling.

Transfer an Incoming Call

Inbound transfers work the same way as outbound. Pick the destination user or number and Sparkforge preserves the call context, including notes and tags, on the contact record.

Post-Call Notes and Tags

After a call ends, the Recents screen prompts you to add notes and tags. Tags drive segmentation and reporting. Live note-taking during a call is on the roadmap.

Dialpad and IVR

When you hit an automated menu, use the on-screen dialpad or your keyboard to send DTMF tones inline. No need to leave the call window.

Voicemail

The Voicemail tab is a dedicated inbox. Each message shows playback controls, a full transcription, and follow-up actions so you can triage faster.
