Email Reply, Forwarding, and BCC Settings in Sparkforge
Under Settings > Email Services > Reply & Forward Settings, configure forwarding to copy replies to an inbox, reply-to routing for replies outside the Conversation tab, and BCC for 1-on-1, workflow, and billing emails.
The Email Services panel controls how email replies are routed, who gets BCC'd, and whether replies sync back to the Conversation tab. Open it from Settings > Email Services > Reply & Forward Settings.
Forwarding address
Lead replies always show up in the Conversations tab. The forwarding address sends an additional copy to one or more inboxes.
Enter multiple addresses separated by commas:
email1@test.com, email2@test.com, email3@test.com
Important: forwarding and BCC only work with Mailgun and Sparkforge Email. Other SMTP providers are not supported. All forwarded copies (To, CC, BCC) are billed.
Reply address
Adding a reply-to address routes incoming replies to that inbox instead of the Conversation tab. Replies sent from that external inbox will not sync back to Sparkforge.
You can add up to 5 reply-to addresses. Click Save after editing.
BCC emails
BCC delivers a blind copy of every 1-on-1, workflow, and billing email sent from the location. Configure under Reply & Forward Settings > BCC Emails.
BCC does not apply to bulk or campaign sends.
Forward to assigned user
Routes replies to the assigned user's inbox using the email on their Settings > My Staff > Edit User > User Info record.
Billing for forwarded emails
When rebilling is enabled, each forwarded email is charged at standard outgoing email rates.
| Service | Applies to |
|---|---|
| Sparkforge Email | Agency and sub-account when rebilling is enabled |
| Mailgun (Location-owned) | Sub-account only |
To trace a charge, check the billing entry's Billing Source Type (which service generated it) and Billing Trigger ID (unique event identifier).
Reply tracking with non-Mailgun SMTP
Mailgun reply tracking is built into the receiving route configured in Mailgun, so there is no separate toggle. For other SMTP providers, the reply-to address shows the Mailgun subdomain configured in Agency Settings > Mailgun — for example, testing@replies.subdomain.com. Replies still appear in the Conversation tab.
With reply tracking: the system rewrites the reply-to to the Mailgun subdomain so replies route back to the Conversation tab.
Without reply tracking: replies go directly to the configured sender inbox and are not captured.
Note: copying the reply-to and emailing it fresh will not route to the Conversation tab. The reply must come from the original message thread.
