How to Use the T&C Filter in Sparkforge Workflows
The T&C Filter in Sparkforge workflows segments contacts by whether they agreed to your Terms and Conditions on a form, survey, or quiz submission. Use it to keep regulated journeys compliant and to gate specific offers or features.
The T&C Filter lets a Sparkforge workflow branch on whether a contact agreed to your Terms and Conditions when they submitted a form, survey, or quiz. Use it to keep regulated journeys compliant and to send different actions to consenting and non-consenting contacts.
What the T&C Filter Does
- Segments contacts by their T&C agreement status on the triggering submission.
- Keeps workflows compliant by routing only consenting contacts into restricted steps.
- Branches user journeys so agreed and not-agreed paths can run different actions.
Add the T&C Filter to a Workflow
- Open Automation → Workflows and create a new workflow or edit an existing one.
- Set the trigger to Form Submitted, Survey Submitted, or Quiz Submitted.
- Click Add Filters on the trigger.
- Choose T&C Filter from the filter list.
Configure the Filter
Pick one of two conditions:
- Agreed: the contact ticked the T&C checkbox on the submission.
- Not agreed: the contact did not tick the T&C checkbox, including contacts who never saw the field.
Apply the filter to the trigger so downstream actions only run for the matching segment.
Save and Test
- Save the workflow.
- Submit a test form or survey with and without ticking the T&C box.
- Confirm the workflow only fires for the intended segment.
Use Cases
- Promotional offers: exclude contacts who haven’t accepted updated terms from receiving discount campaigns.
- Feature access: restrict gated content or premium features to consenting contacts only.
- Compliance management: ensure only consenting contacts proceed through a regulated workflow path.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I combine the T&C filter with other workflow filters?
Yes. The T&C filter stacks with any other workflow filter, so you can segment by source, tags, custom fields, and consent at the same time.
What happens to contacts who never saw the T&C field?
They’re categorized as Not Agreed. The filter treats absence of consent the same as an explicit decline, which keeps regulated journeys safe by default.
Which trigger types support the T&C filter?
Form Submitted, Survey Submitted, and Quiz Submitted. Other workflow triggers don’t expose the T&C field.
Do I need a checkbox on every form?
Only on the forms, surveys, or quizzes where you want to track consent. Without a T&C field present, every contact through that trigger will register as Not Agreed.
