How to Use the Workflow Scheduler Trigger in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Workflow Scheduler Trigger fires automations on a clock you set, with no contact required. Use presets or cron for hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or one-time runs in your account timezone.

The Workflow Scheduler Trigger starts a workflow on a schedule you define, without enrolling a contact. It fits operations work like daily reports, spreadsheet syncs, webhook pings, and team alerts.

What the Scheduler Trigger does

Scheduler is a native, contactless trigger. Any contact-only action inside the workflow is skipped automatically, so jobs don't fail because no one is enrolled.

  • Hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, one-time, or cron cadences
  • Runs on your account timezone
  • Skip Weekends and Stop On (end date) safeguards
  • Pairs with Webhook (Outbound), Google Sheets, Airtable, Slack, internal email or SMS, Custom Values, and tasks

Configure a schedule

  1. Open the workflow and add the Scheduler trigger.
  2. Choose a preset (Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Specific Date, or Cron).
  3. Set the run time and any options like Skip Weekends or Stop On.
  4. Click Check Trigger Schedule to preview the next five executions.
  5. Publish the workflow when the preview matches your intent.

Cron syntax

When presets aren't enough, use standard cron: minute hour day month weekday.

  • 0 9 * * 1 — Mondays at 9 AM
  • 30 14 1 * * — 1st of the month at 2:30 PM
  • 0 */2 * * * — every two hours

Use cases

  • Ops: nightly data hygiene, weekly KPI digests, monthly cleanups
  • Integrations: push or pull rows from Google Sheets or Airtable on a cadence
  • Reporting: post a Slack summary every morning
  • Hygiene: tag stale opportunities or close out cold leads on a timer
