Order Fulfilled Trigger for Sparkforge Ecommerce Workflows

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Order Fulfilled trigger launches a workflow when an order's status changes to fulfilled, whether it ships from a Sparkforge store or a connected platform like Shopify. Filter by cart value, products, source, carrier, or tracking number.

The Order Fulfilled trigger fires when an order's status changes to fulfilled, covering both Sparkforge ecommerce stores and external platforms like Shopify (with shipping connectors such as Shippo or ShipStation). One workflow handles every fulfillment path.

What it does

The trigger gives you a single automation point for fulfillment events. Use it to send shipment notifications, update CRMs and accounting, kick off internal tasks, and adjust inventory exactly when products leave the warehouse.

Key benefits

  • Close the loop. Send shipment notifications the instant an order is fulfilled.
  • Reduce manual work. Update CRM, inventory, and accounting systems automatically.
  • Segment by data. Use cart value, SKU, carrier, and other fulfillment fields to route customers.
  • Multi-store coverage. One trigger handles native Sparkforge stores and external sources.

Available filters

  • Cart value. Target high- or low-value orders.
  • Fulfilled products. Run follow-ups for specific SKUs only.
  • Order source. Choose Store (Sparkforge) or External.
  • Order sub-source. When source is External, narrow to Shopify.
  • Shipping carrier. Treat FedEx, UPS, USPS, and others differently.
  • Tracking number. Trigger on presence or specific patterns (overnight codes, for example).

Store vs External order sources

  • Store. Orders created in a Sparkforge ecommerce store.
  • External. Orders synced from third-party storefronts (currently Shopify).

One workflow now covers both pathways. Use the Order Source filter to differentiate.

Migrating from the legacy Shopify trigger

Sparkforge has renamed the legacy Shopify Order Fulfilled trigger to Shopify Order Fulfilled (Deprecating Soon). Existing workflows continue to run, but new automations should use the unified Order Fulfilled trigger.

How to set it up

  1. Go to Automation > Workflows and click + Create Workflow (or open an existing one).
  2. Click Add Trigger in the workflow builder.
  3. Under Ecommerce Stores, select Order Fulfilled.
  4. Name the trigger and add filters for source, carrier, products, or value.
  5. Build the follow-up actions: shipment SMS or email, CRM tag, internal task, accounting webhook, or inventory update.
  6. Save and publish.

Workflow ideas

  • Shipment SMS with tracking link the moment an order is fulfilled.
  • FedEx overnight orders trigger a VIP follow-up sequence.
  • Orders over $500 add a CRM tag for a personal thank-you call.
  • External (Shopify) orders sync to a separate Google Sheet for reconciliation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Order Fulfilled trigger cover Shopify orders?
Yes. Filter Order Source to External and Order Sub-Source to Shopify to cover Shopify fulfillments alongside native Sparkforge orders.
Can I send a shipment text with a tracking link?
Yes. The trigger exposes carrier and tracking number fields, so you can include them in an SMS or email action.
What happens to my old Shopify Order Fulfilled workflow?
It keeps running under the renamed Shopify Order Fulfilled (Deprecating Soon) trigger. Migrate to the unified Order Fulfilled trigger for new automations.
Can I run different actions per shipping carrier?
Yes. Filter the trigger by carrier (FedEx, UPS, USPS) or use If/Else branches inside the workflow to differentiate actions.
How do I avoid sending notifications for low-value test orders?
Add a Cart Value filter on the trigger or an If/Else step in the workflow to skip orders below a threshold you set.
