How Sticky Contact Works in Sparkforge Forms

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sticky Contact pre-fills forms, surveys, and calendars for returning visitors using a browser cookie. Useful for repeat customers — turn it off for shared kiosks or staff filling out forms on behalf of customers.

Sticky Contact uses a browser cookie to pre-fill Sparkforge forms, surveys, and calendars with data the visitor previously entered — name, email, phone, and so on. It cuts friction for repeat users and lifts completion rates.

When to use Sticky Contact

  • Recurring event sign-ups where attendees come back often.
  • Customer portals where the same person submits frequently.
  • Multi-step funnels that should carry data forward across pages.

When NOT to use Sticky Contact

  • Internal team members filling out forms or booking appointments on behalf of customers.
  • Shared kiosks or tablets where multiple people submit from the same device.

In both cases, Sticky Contact will overwrite the first contact with the next person’s details because the cookie is tied to the device. For staff-driven entry, disable Sticky Contact and update contacts directly.

Why turn it on

  • Faster submissions for returning visitors.
  • Less repetition for the user.
  • Consistent data across forms, surveys, calendars, and order forms.
  • Higher completion rates and lower drop-off.

Enable Sticky Contact in Forms

  1. Go to Sites → Forms and open the Form Builder.
  2. Open or create a form.
  3. Click Form Settings.
  4. Toggle Sticky Contact to On.
  5. Click Save.

Enable Sticky Contact in Surveys

  1. Go to Sites → Surveys and open the Survey Builder.
  2. Open or create a survey.
  3. Open Survey Settings.
  4. Toggle Sticky Contact to On and save.

If your calendar uses a custom form, the Sticky Contact toggle will not appear in calendar settings. Enable it on the custom form instead — the calendar honors the data the form stores.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Sticky Contact work across subdomains?
No. Sticky Contact data is domain-specific and will not pre-fill across different subdomains.
What happens if a user clears their cookies?
Sticky Contact loses the saved data and fields stop pre-filling on that browser.
Is Sticky Contact GDPR-compliant?
It can be. Disclose cookie use and provide an opt-out so you stay aligned with data protection laws.
Does Sticky Contact conflict with browser autofill?
No. They run independently and can complement each other.
Sticky Contact isn’t showing in my calendar settings — why?
If the calendar uses a custom form, enable Sticky Contact on that form. The calendar honors the form’s setting.
