How to Use Forms and Surveys Analytics in Sparkforge
Open Sites > Analytics in Sparkforge to see views, responses, completion rate, and average time for forms and surveys. Pick a single survey to view per-slide views and drop-off.
Sparkforge analytics give you a clear view of how forms and surveys perform. Track views, responses, completion rate, and average time. For surveys, drill into slide-level views and drop-off to find friction.
Key Metrics
- Total Views: How many times the asset was viewed in the chosen date range.
- Responses: Completed submissions.
- Average Time: Average time to complete.
- Completion Rate: Responses divided by views, with automatic previous-period comparison.
- Total Views chart: Line chart for trend spotting.
- Per-Asset Breakdown: Total views per form or survey when viewing All assets.
Filters
- Type: Forms or Surveys (top-left).
- Asset: All or a specific form or survey.
- Date Range: Last 7, 14, 30, 60, or 90 days, or a custom range.
How to Open the Dashboard
- From the left menu, go to Sites.
- Click the Analytics tab in the top navigation.
- Set Type, Asset, and Date Range filters.
- Read the metric cards, charts, and (when a single survey is selected) the slide-level table.
Slide-Level Views and Drop-Off (Surveys Only)
When a single survey is selected, you see a per-slide table with these columns:
- Slide: Step number or title.
- Views: Sessions that reached the slide.
- Drop-Off: Change versus the previous slide, shown as a count and a percent.
How Drop-Off Is Calculated
For slide n where n is greater than 1:
- Drop-Off (count) = Views(n-1) minus Views(n)
- Drop-Off (%) = Drop-Off(count) divided by Views(n-1) times 100
Slide 1 has no prior slide, so Drop-Off shows N/A. Positive values mean fewer people reached the current slide. Negative values mean more people reached it.
Why Drop-Off Can Be Negative
- Jump or skip logic routes respondents past the previous slide.
- Legacy radio/checkbox routing can skip slides.
- Slide reordering after data collection changes which slide counts as previous.
Quick Example
- Slide 1: 100 views
- Slide 2: 93 views. Drop-Off = 100 minus 93 = 7 (7%).
- Slide 3: 98 views (5 jumped from slide 1). Drop-Off = 93 minus 98 = -5 (-5.4%).
Troubleshooting Negative Drop-Off
- Audit conditional logic for jump or skip rules.
- Check for legacy radio or checkbox routing.
- Confirm slide order has not changed mid-period.
- Align your date filter with logic or order changes.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the previous-period comparison determined?
It compares your selected date range to the immediately preceding equal-length period. For example, Last 14 days compares to the 14 days before that.
Why is the per-form or per-survey breakdown missing?
The breakdown appears only when viewing All forms or All surveys. Select a single asset and the aggregate breakdown hides.
Why don't I see the per-slide analysis table for my survey?
The slide-level table appears only when a single specific survey is selected. Switch the Asset filter from All to that survey.
What does negative Drop-Off mean?
More people reached the current slide than the previous one. This usually comes from jump or skip logic, legacy radio or checkbox routing, or slide reordering.
Which analytics types can I choose in the top-left dropdown?
Forms or Surveys. The dropdown also includes funnels, websites, QR codes, and blogs.
