Set or Change the Default Brand Board in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The default Brand Board controls which colors and fonts surface first in Sparkforge editors. Switch defaults from the Brand Boards tab in Marketing or directly inside the board editor.

A Brand Board stores your colors, fonts, and logos so Sparkforge editors can apply them consistently. Marking one as Default tells the email, funnel, and website pickers which assets to show first. The first Brand Board you create is set as default automatically.

Why set a default Brand Board

  • Consistency. Colors, fonts, and logos stay aligned across every editor.
  • Speed. The right swatches and typefaces surface at the top of pickers.
  • Onboarding. New team members apply the correct styling without training.
  • Switching. Swap defaults during seasonal promotions to expose a different palette.

When to change the default

  • Brand refresh. New colors, logos, or typography go live — update the default so future builds use them.
  • Seasonal themes. Holiday or campaign palettes can be swapped in temporarily. For recurring themes, create a separate board you can switch in and out.

Change the default Brand Board

  1. Open Marketing in the main nav, then select the Brand Boards tab. (You can also reach Brand Boards from Settings > Brand Boards.)
  2. Find the board you want as default. Click the three-dot menu next to it.
  3. Select Set as Default.

Set default from the editor

  1. Click the Brand Board to open the editor.
  2. In the top-right corner, click Set as Default.

Confirm the change

The default board displays a Default status label. Open any email or page editor to verify the expected colors appear in the picker.

What changes and what doesn't

  • Pickers across Websites, Funnels, and Email update for new and future edits.
  • Existing pages, emails, and funnels keep their saved styling — changing the default does not retroactively restyle assets.
  • Only one board can be default at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I switch the default Brand Board later?
Yes. Repeat the same steps on a different board to swap the default. Only one board can hold the default status at a time.
What happens if I don't have any Brand Boards yet?
Create one and it's set as default automatically. The first board you save always becomes the active default.
Will changing the default update existing emails and pages?
No. The default change only affects which assets surface in editor pickers for new or future edits. Existing assets keep the styling you saved.
Where do default Brand Board colors and fonts appear?
They appear at the top of the color and font pickers across Websites, Funnels, and Email — anywhere Sparkforge editors render branded content.
