Quick Add and Edit Custom Fields in Sparkforge Forms and Surveys

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge form and survey builders now support drag-and-drop custom fields. Configure dropdown options, file inputs, names, and unique keys inline. Saving the form locks the field name and key.

What's new

Adding a custom field to a form or survey used to mean opening a separate modal. Now you drag the field into the builder and configure it in place.

Heads-up: If a custom field name contains the word "score," Sparkforge automatically treats it as a numeric scoring element. This applies to forms, surveys, and quizzes — and is hardcoded.

Draggable custom field types

  • Radio Select
  • Single and Multi Dropdown
  • Checkbox
  • File Upload
  • Single Line
  • Multi Line
  • Textbox List
  • Date Picker
  • Number
  • Monetary

Customization

Configure dropdown, radio, and checkbox options inline. File upload fields support input options. Set the field name and unique key during creation.

Workflow

  1. Open the builder: Sites > Forms > Builder.
  2. Drag the field type into the form. The builder shows a soft shadow on the dragged element and auto-scrolls long forms when you drag near the top or bottom.
  3. Customize options.
  4. Save the form. The field name and unique key lock at this point — further edits to those happen in the Custom Fields settings page.

Editing existing fields

  1. Click the custom field inside the builder.
  2. The right-hand sidebar opens.
  3. Use General Settings and Advanced Settings to change options, ordering, and labels.

Removing outdated custom fields

Deleting a field from a form doesn't remove it from your CRM. To purge it everywhere:

  1. Go to Settings > Custom Fields.
  2. Find the field in the list.
  3. Click the trash icon to delete permanently.
Warning: Deleting from Settings > Custom Fields removes the field from every form, survey, and contact record where it was used.
