Collect Payments and Donations in Sparkforge Forms

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Payment element in Sparkforge forms collects donations or product payments — online via Stripe, Authorize.net, or NMI, or offline via cash, check, or bank transfer — with recurring billing and unified order tracking.

The Payment element in Sparkforge forms collects donations and user-defined amounts directly inside a form. You'll find it under Integrations in the form builder element panel.

What it can do

  • Collect donations with suggested or custom amounts.
  • Run recurring contributions on a weekly, monthly, or yearly cycle.
  • Sell products with manual payment methods like cash or bank transfer.
  • Track every transaction in the unified Payments dashboard.

Supported payment types

  • Online — Stripe, Authorize.net, or NMI through your connected gateway.
  • Manual — Cash on Delivery (COD) or custom methods like bank transfer or check.

Donation amount options

Suggested amounts

  • Add up to 15 suggested amounts.
  • Pick a currency from the dropdown.
  • Enable Other Amount for flexibility.
  • Customize the label that displays when a donor selects an amount.
  • Styling matches your form's theme automatically.

User-defined amount

If you don't add suggested amounts, the user-defined option turns on automatically. Donors enter any amount, and you can include a placeholder to guide them.

Recurring donations

  1. Add the Custom Amount element.
  2. Toggle on Recurring Payment.
  3. Pick the billing frequencies you want to offer (Weekly, Monthly, Yearly).

Donors choose an amount and frequency, subscribe once, and payments recur automatically.

Set up manual payments

  1. Go to Payments → Integrations → Manual Payment Methods.
  2. Enable Cash on Delivery or Custom Payment Methods.
  3. Configure the description and post-purchase message.
  4. Make sure manual options are enabled for forms and surveys.

When a product is added to a form or survey, the manual option appears automatically in payment selection.

Order processing

  • A submitted form with manual payment shows under Payments → Orders as Pending.
  • Mark the order Paid and choose the mode (cash, card, check, bank transfer).
  • The status syncs back to Form Submissions.

Tracking and notifications

  • Payment details appear directly in form submission data.
  • Full transaction history lives under Payments → Transactions.
  • Export transactions whenever you need.
  • Enable autoresponders and email notifications so both you and the customer see amount and status in real time.

Important notes

  • NMI and Authorize.net require First Name as a mandatory field.
  • Refunds are not supported through the Payment element.
  • The legacy API-based Stripe Connect method is no longer supported.
  • Calendars using custom form payments will not display the Payment element.
  • Multi-payments across multiple forms in a funnel are not supported yet.
  • Undo/Redo is not available with the Payment element.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which payment gateways does the Payment element support?
Stripe, Authorize.net, and NMI for online payments. Manual methods (cash on delivery, bank transfer, check) are handled inside Sparkforge.
Can I take recurring donations through a form?
Yes. Add the Custom Amount element, toggle Recurring Payment on, and pick weekly, monthly, or yearly billing. Donors subscribe once and payments repeat.
Are refunds supported in the Payment element?
No. Refunds are not handled through the Payment element. You'll need to issue them inside the underlying gateway.
Where do I see manual orders that haven't been paid yet?
Open Payments → Orders. Manual orders show as Pending until you mark them Paid and select the payment mode, which syncs back to Form Submissions.
Why doesn't the Payment element show on my calendar form?
Calendars that already use custom form payments don't display the Payment element. Use the calendar's built-in payment configuration instead.
