How to Set Offer Duration and Start Date in Sparkforge Memberships
Inside an offer's Offer Access section, set a day-count to limit access (e.g., 180 = 6 months) or a start date to delay access. You can use either or both.
Sparkforge memberships and courses let you set fixed-length access or a future start date on any offer. This is useful for time-limited cohorts, drip launches, and pre-sales.
Set a fixed access duration
- Open the offer you want to modify (or create a new one).
- Scroll to the Offer Access section.
- Check Restrict access to specific amount of days.
- Enter the number of days.
- 6 months = 180
- 2 months = 60
- 1 week = 7
- 1 day = 1
- Save the offer, then publish it.
Access starts on the member's signup date and is automatically revoked when the day count runs out.
Set a future start date
- Open the offer.
- In the Offer Access section, check Begin access at specific date.
- Pick the date access should open.
- Save and publish.
Anyone who signs up before that date sees the course overview but cannot open lessons until the start date hits. Good for pre-sales and product launches.
Combine both
You can set a start date and a duration on the same offer. Access opens on the start date and runs for the day count after that.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if a member buys a second offer for the same course while the first is still active?
Sparkforge merges the validity periods. The most recent offer's window applies, so members get the longer of the two access periods.
What happens when a member upgrades to a different offer for the same course?
Their access extends based on the new offer's validity. The new offer's terms take precedence so members never lose time during an upgrade.
Can a learner see content before the start date?
Only the overview page. Lessons stay locked until the start date arrives.
What units does duration accept?
Days. Convert weeks or months yourself — 30 days per month is the common convention.
