How to Build Quizzes and Assessments for Membership Courses

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge memberships support quizzes and assignments inside any course. Add them to a category or lesson, set passing criteria, and track results in analytics.

Assessments — quizzes and assignments — are built into Sparkforge membership courses. Use them to grade learners, gate progress, or just confirm a student understood a module. They support multiple question types, optional pass/fail rules, multiple attempts, and submission analytics.

What You Can Build

  • Multi-question quizzes with optional passing grade.
  • Assignments where learners upload work for review (or submit ungraded).
  • Templates and instruction documents attached to assignments.
  • Confirmation messages shown after submission.
  • Analytics on attempts, scores, and submissions.

Create an Assessment

  1. Open Memberships from the left menu.
  2. From the Courses dropdown, choose Products to see your course library.
  3. Click the course you want to add an assessment to.
  4. In the Product Structure, click + Add Content next to the category, or use the button at the top right.
  5. Pick Add Assignment or Add Quiz.

The new assessment shows up in the content list. Use the action icons to set its status (Published, Draft, Locked), edit it, or delete it.

Configure an Assignment

Click the pencil icon to open the assignment editor.

  • Title — shown to learners.
  • Ungraded Assignment — toggle on to accept submissions without a score.
  • Thumbnail — optional cover image.
  • Instructions — formatted guidance for learners. Hyperlinks and emphasis are supported.
  • Upload Templates — attach starter files (.docx, .pdf, .pptx, etc.).
  • Confirmation Message — what the learner sees after submitting.

Configure a Quiz

Quizzes use the dedicated quiz editor. You'll set the title, add questions, define correct answers, and pick scoring rules. Set a passing grade if you want to gate completion. Allow multiple attempts if learners should retake until they pass.

Track Results

Submissions and scores roll up into the course analytics view. Use it to identify struggling learners, spot questions that trip people up, and confirm certificates only go to people who actually passed.
