Notifications in the Sparkforge Client Portal

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Client Portal Notifications tab centralizes alerts from courses and communities. Users control email and push preferences per event type, and portal owners can lock certain defaults.

The Sparkforge Client Portal collects every notification — communities, courses, membership events, engagement signals — into a single Notifications tab. Users see one list, get email backups for in-app alerts, and control how each event type is delivered.

How to access notifications

  • Click the Bell icon inside the application.
  • Notifications from child apps (Courses, Communities) appear in the same list.
  • Click any notification to view details or take action.

In-app notifications also generate matching email notifications by default. All notifications sent through the Client Portal — including community messages — are billed as standard email usage.

When a notification links to a Community post, the post can open in a dedicated full-page web view for easier reading.

Manage your preferences

Each user controls their own email and push notifications per event type — community updates, course certificates, post likes, comment likes.

  1. Open the Client Portal, Communities, or Courses area.
  2. Click your profile icon in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select Manage Your Account.
  4. Choose Notifications from the left menu.
  5. Toggle email or push on or off per event type.

Owner-controlled defaults

Portal owners can lock certain notification settings across the entire portal — typically the engagement signals like post and comment likes. When a setting is locked, users see a tooltip explaining the option is managed by an administrator.

Owner-controlled settings include:

  • Email notifications for post likes (on/off)
  • Email notifications for comment likes (on/off)
