Set Up the Chat Widget in the Sparkforge Client Portal
Connect one existing Chat Widget to your Client Portal and toggle its visibility per child app (Communities, Courses, Affiliates). Conversations land in your Sparkforge inbox like any other webchat.
The Chat Widget integration brings real-time support into the Sparkforge Client Portal. Pick one widget you've already built, decide which child apps display it, and conversations route into your Sparkforge inbox.
What it does
The integration connects a single Chat Widget across the Client Portal and gives you per-child-app visibility control. No embed code, no juggling multiple widgets. Communities, Courses, and Affiliates each get their own on/off toggle, and you can mix and match.
Set it up
- In the sub-account, go to Memberships → Client Portal → Settings → Chat Widget.
- Open the Select Chat Widget dropdown and pick the widget you want to use.
- Under Select Pages, toggle visibility for Communities, Courses, Affiliates, and Home & Account settings.
- Click Save Settings.
- Validate by opening the portal and refreshing.
To change the widget's appearance or channels (Live, Email/SMS, WhatsApp), edit the widget itself under Sites → Chat Widget, then refresh the Client Portal page.
Per-child-app visibility
Use visibility toggles to align support with where it actually drives outcomes. Common patterns:
- On for Courses and Affiliates, off for Communities (where peer support is the model).
- On for Communities only, when you want a moderator queue.
- On everywhere, for high-touch coaching programs.
Prerequisites
- At least one Chat Widget already created in the sub-account.
- Access to Client Portal settings.
- Channel-specific requirements met (for example, a configured WhatsApp number if WhatsApp is one of your widget channels).
Limitations
- One widget per portal. You select a single Chat Widget for the entire Client Portal.
- Visibility only per child app. You cannot assign different widgets to different child apps.
- Global widget content. Branding, greeting, and channels apply wherever the widget appears.
- Multi-widget setups apply to public websites and funnels, not the Client Portal.
