How to Set Up the Sparkforge Client Portal

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Sparkforge client portal is a single sign-in for clients to access affiliate dashboards, communities, and membership courses. Set it up under Memberships → Client Portal: configure a custom domain (or use the default clientclub.net subdomain), brand the appearance, and invite clients via email or direct URL.

The client portal is a single client-facing surface that ties together affiliate dashboards, membership courses, and communities. It runs on the clientclub.net subdomain by default, or on a custom domain you point at it. This guide covers domain setup, branding, language, and invitations.

What clients see in the portal

  • Affiliate commissions and referral links
  • Membership courses they're enrolled in
  • Community groups (upcoming)
  • Their account profile and language settings

One sign-in unlocks all of it — clients don't bounce between separate URLs to check different parts of your business.

Set up a custom domain

  1. Go to Memberships → Client Portal → Settings → Domain Setup.
  2. Choose Custom Domain and enter the domain or subdomain you want (for example, portal.yourbrand.com).
  3. In your domain registrar's DNS settings, add either an A record pointing to 34.67.19.69, or a CNAME record pointing to preview.clientclub.net.
  4. Wait for DNS to propagate. 24–48 hours is the safe window. Click Update Domain when done.

After the domain swap, anyone visiting your old URL sees a notice and gets auto-redirected after 30 seconds.

A record vs. CNAME

  • A record maps your domain to an IP. Use when you're pointing a root domain (yourbrand.com).
  • CNAME maps your domain to another hostname. Use for subdomains (portal.yourbrand.com).

Brand the portal

Open Memberships → Client Portal → Branding and set:

SettingWhat it controls
Portal NameHeading shown across the portal
Portal DescriptionShort blurb visible to clients
Brand Color OnePrimary color — buttons, headings, highlights
Brand Color TwoAccent color
Favicon1:1, SVG/PNG/JPG, max 16×16 px
Portal ImageMain branding image, 1:1, max 720×720 px
Logo1:1, SVG/PNG/JPG, max 200×200 px

Click Save Settings to apply. Cancel reverts before save.

Set a default language

If you serve multiple regions, go to Memberships → Client Portal → Settings → Language Settings, pick a default language, and save. Individual clients can override their own language inside the portal.

Invite clients

From a child app

  • Membership Course — existing membership users sign in with their current credentials, both directly and through the portal.
  • Affiliate Program — go to Marketing → Affiliate Manager → Campaigns → Edit Campaign, copy the signup link, and share it.

By URL

Copy the portal URL from Domain Setup and send it via email, SMS, or wherever you communicate with clients. Drop it into a welcome email, your main site, or your social profiles. Tell them what they'll get — exclusive content, support channels, community access — so they actually log in.

Troubleshooting

  • Branding changes aren't showing up. Clear your browser cache or open the portal in an incognito window.
  • Custom domain isn't loading. DNS can take 24–48 hours to propagate. After that, check the records with your registrar.
  • Affiliate stats missing for a client. Confirm the affiliate has the right credentials and the campaign permissions are set correctly.
  • Favicon won't upload. Must be 1:1, max 16×16 px, in SVG, PNG, or JPG.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a custom domain instead of clientclub.net?
Yes. Add a custom domain under Memberships → Client Portal → Settings → Domain Setup, then point either an A record at 34.67.19.69 or a CNAME at preview.clientclub.net.
How long does DNS take to propagate?
Typically 24–48 hours, depending on your registrar's TTL and the geographic spread of DNS resolvers. If a domain still isn't live after 48 hours, check the records with your registrar.
Can each sub-account have its own portal branding?
Yes. Each sub-account configures its own logo, colors, favicon, and copy under Branding — useful for agencies running multiple client brands.
What happens to clients on the old URL after I switch domains?
They see a domain update notice and get auto-redirected to the new domain after 30 seconds.
How do clients log in?
Existing membership users sign in with their current course credentials. New clients receive an invite from a child app (affiliate, membership) or via the portal URL you share.
