Neo Classic is the current default theme for new courses in Sparkforge. It updates the lesson navigation, quiz UX, and admin preview tools used inside Memberships and Communities course products.

What Neo Classic Changes

  • Refreshed lesson navigation with one-click jumps between lessons, quizzes, and modules.
  • Updated color palette and animations across the learner experience.
  • Faster page loads from a streamlined frontend.
  • Default theme for any newly created course.

Quiz and Assignment Updates

  • Quiz explanations display when added, so learners see why an answer was right or wrong.
  • Single Choice vs. Multiple Choice tags show next to each question so learners know what's expected.
  • Full quiz review after submission shows attempted questions, correct answers, and total score.
  • Smoother navigation between questions during an attempt.
  • Improved start pages for quizzes and assignments.
  • Status pages clearly mark In Review, Pass, or Fail with instructor notes inline.

Learner Experience Updates

  • Course progress bar on the Courses screen tracks how far each learner has gotten.
  • Locked and drip-released lessons are visually distinct so learners can see what's gated.
  • Mark as Complete auto-converts to Completed after a successful lesson, quiz, or assignment.
  • Image preview replaces the old zoom-only behavior.
  • Download progress with cancel control on lesson resources.
  • Shimmer placeholders replace spinners while content loads.

Admin Preview Improvements

Admins can toggle between locked and unlocked lesson views inside Neo Classic preview mode. That means you can verify both the gated experience a new learner sees and the full lesson view before publishing.

Switch an Existing Course to Neo Classic

  1. Open the course product and click Customize in the Course Outline.
  2. Click Browse Templates.
  3. Select Neo Classic.

New courses use Neo Classic by default — no manual switch needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Neo Classic the default for new courses?
Yes. Any course you create now uses Neo Classic out of the box. Existing courses keep their current theme until you switch them.
Can I revert to the previous course theme?
Yes. Open the course outline, click Customize, browse templates, and pick the theme you want. The change applies to learners immediately.
Do quiz explanations appear automatically?
They appear when you've added an explanation to the question. If a question has no explanation, learners just see the correct answer on review.
Does Neo Classic affect drip schedules or lesson locks?
It only changes how locked and drip lessons look to learners — your existing drip rules and access logic still apply.
Which plan includes Sparkforge Courses?
Courses, communities, and memberships are part of the Sparkforge Pro plan, which also includes white-glove onboarding.
