Facebook and Instagram Messaging Setup in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Connect a Facebook Page and Instagram Business Account to Sparkforge so messages flow into the CRM. Both require Sparkforge messaging access on the Page, user-level message permissions, and the Facebook integration enabled in Settings.

Connecting a Facebook Page and Instagram Business Account to Sparkforge lets you handle conversations from the CRM instead of jumping between apps. Both connections need a few permissions in place first.

Facebook Page messaging setup

  1. Sparkforge messaging access must be granted on the Page so it can send and receive messages. Manage access at facebook.com/settings (business tools).
  2. Your user account must have full access to the Page including message access. Manage at business.facebook.com/latest/settings.
  3. Enable Facebook messenger in Settings → Integration → Facebook card → Settings.

Instagram messaging setup

  1. Sparkforge messaging access must be granted on the connected Page (same business tools settings link as above).
  2. Confirm you can send and receive Instagram messages under Instagram accounts at business.facebook.com/latest/settings.
  3. Confirm the Instagram account is in the connected assets list on the connected Page.
  4. Enable Instagram messaging in Settings → Integration → Facebook card → Settings.

Common gotchas

  • If a connection works but messages do not appear, recheck the business tools page-level permissions.
  • Instagram messaging requires the account to be a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page.
  • Both Facebook and Instagram toggles are inside the same Facebook integration card in Sparkforge settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Instagram messaging is enabled inside the same Facebook integration card in Sparkforge Settings, but the Instagram account must be linked to the connected Page.
Why are messages not showing up after I connect?
Most often it is missing message permissions on the Page or user account. Recheck both business tools settings links.
Can I connect a personal Instagram account?
No. Instagram messaging requires a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page.
Where do I enable the Facebook and Instagram toggles in Sparkforge?
Go to Settings, then Integration, open the Facebook card, then Settings, and enable each messaging option.
