How to Set Up a Funnel Event Pixel for the Facebook Conversions API

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

To send funnel conversions to the Facebook Conversions API, create a Meta Pixel in Events Manager, add the pixel code to your Sparkforge funnel header, then build a workflow with the Facebook Conversion API action using the access token and Pixel ID.

The Facebook Conversions API (CAPI) sends funnel events directly from your server to Meta, which improves attribution when browser tracking is blocked. Setting it up in Sparkforge is a three-step process: create the pixel, add the pixel code to the funnel, and build a workflow that sends the events.

Step 1: Create a Meta Pixel

  1. Open Meta Business Suite and go to Events Manager.
  2. Confirm you're connected to the correct Ad Account and Page.
  3. Click Connect Data Sources in the left sidebar, choose Web, and click Next.
  4. Create a new pixel or select an existing one, then click Continue.
  5. Enter the funnel domain you'll add the pixel to and click Check. A green checkmark confirms eligibility.
  6. Choose Meta Pixel and Conversions API when prompted.
  7. Click See Instructions under Conversions API and follow the manual implementation flow.
  8. Pick the most relevant industry, select the events you want to send, and click Continue.
  9. Under parameters, check Event ID, Client IP Address, First Name, Last Name, Email, Client ID, and Business ID. Apply the same parameters to every event.
  10. Review and click Finish.
  11. Choose Set up Meta Pixel, select Install Code Manually, and copy the pixel code.

Step 2: Add Pixel Code to Your Funnel

  1. Open the Sparkforge sub-account where the funnel lives.
  2. Go to Sites > Funnels (or Websites).
  3. To track a single page, click Edit, paste the pixel into the Header Tracking section, and Save.
  4. To track every page, open funnel or website settings and paste the code into Head tracking code.

Step 3: Build the Conversions API Workflow

  1. Open Automation > Workflows > Create Workflow.
  2. Add a trigger: Form Submitted, Customer Booked Appointment, Survey Submitted, or Order Form Submission. Filter to the specific form, calendar, or order form.
  3. Click Add your first Action and choose Facebook Conversion API.
  4. Set Event Type to Funnel Event.
  5. In Meta Events Manager, go to Data Sources > Settings and click Generate Access Token. Paste it into the workflow action.
  6. From the same Settings page, copy the Dataset ID (this is the Pixel ID) and paste it into the Pixel ID field.
  7. Save the action, then save and publish the workflow.

Lead Value

Use a placeholder value such as 1000 or 2000 for Lead Value so you can identify what each lead contributes to your pipeline.

Custom Mapping

Custom mapping is off by default. Toggle it on to map FBCLID for funnel events or Facebook Lead ID for lead events. Custom values override the system defaults; leave them blank to use the defaults.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I find my Pixel ID and access token?
Both live under Meta Events Manager > Data Sources > Settings. The Dataset ID is your Pixel ID, and Generate Access Token creates the token.
Can I track only one funnel page?
Yes. Paste the pixel code into the Header Tracking section of that specific page instead of the funnel-wide head tracking code.
Which workflow triggers send Facebook Conversions API events?
Form Submitted, Customer Booked Appointment, Survey Submitted, and Order Form Submission. You can use one trigger or combine them.
What value should I put in Lead Value?
Use an assumed value like 1000 or 2000 so you can compare lead contribution inside Meta. The figure isn't a real revenue number.
When should I enable custom mapping?
Turn it on when you need to send your own FBCLID or Facebook Lead ID values. Leave it off and the platform uses internal defaults.
