How to Troubleshoot Facebook Lead Ads and Multi-Page Connections in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

When Facebook leads stop flowing into Sparkforge, the cause is almost always a permission, token, or page-access issue. Re-grant CRM lead access, reconnect the integration, and verify Instagram is linked to the page.

Facebook integration breaks for predictable reasons: a password change, a token expiry, missing permissions, or a page reassignment. This guide walks the troubleshooting steps to get leads flowing again into your Sparkforge sub-account.

Lead ads not reaching the sub-account

  1. Confirm you have full control of the Facebook page through your business portfolio.
  2. In the sub-account, go to Settings > Integrations > Facebook and verify the form fields mapping is enabled for the form you're running in Ads Manager.
  3. Open Facebook business tools settings and confirm Sparkforge has page access.
  4. Confirm the lead-connector integration is connected.
  5. Verify all required page and lead permissions are granted.
  6. Use the Facebook lead ads testing tool to fire a test lead.

Test with the lead ads tool

  1. Pick the page the lead is coming from.
  2. Pick the form to test.
  3. Confirm App ID 390181264778064 appears in the assigned CRMs list. If it's missing, follow the manual assignment steps below.

Manually assign lead access to Sparkforge

  1. Open Business Suite (or go to Business Settings if you don't have Suite access).
  2. Pick your business account.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click More Business Settings.
  5. Click Integrations > Leads Access.
  6. Click Assign CRMs.
  7. Check Sparkforge and click Assign.

Token expired

The email subject "Important: Facebook connection has expired" means the integration on a sub-account dropped. Common causes:

  • The connecting user changed their Facebook password.
  • The token reached its natural expiry.
  • The user de-authorized the app.
  • The user was logged out of Facebook.
  • Page permissions or users changed.
  • A virtual assistant logged in from another country without a VPN.

Reconnect

  1. Switch to the affected sub-account from the dropdown.
  2. Open Settings > Integrations.
  3. Under the Facebook card, click Connected to disconnect, then click Connect again.
  4. Continue as yourself, pick the page, and click Connect Page.

Missing permissions

Find what's missing under Sub-account > Settings > Integration > Troubleshoot in the Facebook card. The screen lists every missing permission and the features it impacts. Click through to grant them.

Instagram messages not working

  1. Confirm the Instagram account is linked to the Facebook page in Business Settings.
  2. Confirm message access is enabled and the user has full control.
  3. Verify Instagram appears under Connected Assets on the page.
  4. In the Instagram app, go to Settings and activity > Messages and Story reply > Message requests and allow access to connected tools.
  5. In Sparkforge, open Settings > Integrations > Facebook and turn on Instagram and Facebook messaging.

Leads syncing checklist

  1. Users > People: confirm the user has full control in business portfolio access.
  2. Accounts > Pages: confirm the user is added with full control.
  3. Integrations > Lead Access: confirm the lead-connector CRM is connected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did my Facebook integration disconnect?
The most common reasons are a password change, a natural token expiry, the user logging out of Facebook, or a permission change on the page. Reconnect the integration to fix it.
Can I integrate Facebook leads through Zapier instead?
Yes. Third-party tools like Zapier or Pabbly Connect can route Facebook leads into Sparkforge if the native integration is blocked, but the native path has fewer moving parts.
What App ID should I look for in Leads Access?
390181264778064. If it's not in the assigned CRMs list, manually assign it under Business Settings > Integrations > Leads Access > Assign CRMs.
Why are Instagram messages not coming through?
Instagram needs to be linked to the Facebook page, the user needs full message access, and Instagram needs to allow connected tools in the app settings. All three have to be true.
Can a virtual assistant break the connection?
Yes. A VA logging in from a different country without a VPN can trigger Facebook's security flags and invalidate the token. Use a VPN to keep the login geography stable.
