Math Calculations in Sparkforge Forms and Surveys

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge forms and surveys include a Score custom field and a calculator that runs math on numerical and monetary fields in real time. Use scores in conditional logic to redirect, disqualify, or show and hide fields.

Sparkforge forms and surveys include built-in math calculations. Add a Score custom field, build calculation logic across numerical and monetary fields, and watch results update live in preview.

What you can do

  • Score field — drop a custom Score field that calculates from other inputs.
  • Calculator — set up math logic across numerical and monetary fields.
  • Real-time calculation — scores update as the user fills out the form.
  • Score in conditional logic — use scores to redirect URLs, disqualify, or show and hide fields.

Supported field types: numerical and monetary.

How to add math to a form

  1. Open the form or survey builder.
  2. From Quick Add, drag the Score field onto the form.
  3. Open the calculator and define the math — pick the relevant numerical or monetary fields and the operations.
  4. Use Preview to confirm the score updates correctly as you enter data.
  5. Optionally add conditional logic that uses the score to redirect, disqualify, or toggle field visibility.

Editing formulas with the cursor

The Score Editor supports inline cursor edits. Click anywhere in the expression to position the cursor. Arrow keys move one character at a time, Home jumps to the start, and End jumps to the end. Edits apply at the cursor position — no need to clear the whole formula.

Why use it

Score-driven forms support quizzes, qualification surveys, budgeting calculators, ROI estimators, and any flow where the next step depends on a number the user enters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which field types can the calculator use?
Numerical fields and monetary fields. Add the Score field from Quick Add, then reference those fields in the formula.
Do scores update as the user types?
Yes. Real-time calculation runs in preview and on the live form, so users see the result the moment inputs change.
Can I trigger logic based on a score?
Yes. Use the score in conditional logic to redirect to a URL, disqualify the response, or show and hide downstream fields.
Can I edit formulas without clearing them?
Yes. The Score Editor supports inline cursor edits with arrow keys, Home, and End so you can change a single piece of an expression in place.
