By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Math Calculation v2 lets Sparkforge forms and surveys score Radio Select, Checkbox, Single Dropdown, and Multi Dropdown fields alongside Number and Monetary fields. Scores update live in Preview Mode while you build.

The Forms and Surveys builder in Sparkforge now scores selectable fields, not just numeric inputs. Build quizzes, budget calculators, self-assessments, and lead scoring forms without workarounds, and watch totals update live as you test.

What Changed

New Field Types Support Scoring

You can assign a numeric score to each option on these fields:

  • Radio Select
  • Checkbox
  • Single Dropdown
  • Multi Dropdown

Each option holds its own score, and these fields combine with existing Number and Monetary fields for richer scoring logic.

Live Score Preview

Scores recalculate instantly in Preview Mode as you click through the form. Validate logic before going live without publishing test versions.

How to Set Up Math Calculations

  1. Add the fields. Open your form or survey and drag in any combination of Radio Select, Checkbox, Single Dropdown, or Multi Dropdown from Quick Add.
  2. Assign scores. Click each field and set a numeric score on every option.
  3. Configure logic. Use the calculation settings to define how scores from each field roll up into a total.
  4. Preview. Switch to Preview Mode and click options to verify the running total.

Common Use Cases

  • Quizzes: Auto-score based on answer choices.
  • Budget tools: Sum selected services or products into a running total.
  • Lead qualification: Score multi-choice answers to qualify leads on submission.
  • Self-assessments: Give the user instant feedback based on their input.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use decimal or negative scores?
Yes. Field options accept both decimal and negative numeric values, which gives you flexibility for weighted scoring or penalty answers.
Do calculations work on the live form or only in preview?
Calculations run live in Preview Mode during setup. On a published form, configure where the score goes — a custom field, a hidden field, or a confirmation page.
Can I trigger logic based on the calculated score?
The form builder calculates the score. To branch on the result, push the score into a custom field and use a workflow to act on it.
Does this break my older forms?
No. Existing forms keep working as-is. Edit a form to opt into the new scoring options.
Does this work in surveys too?
Yes. Math Calculation v2 applies to both Forms and Surveys.
