Manage Stripe Payment Methods in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge uses four Stripe configurations — Invoice, InvoiceWithAutopayment, Store, and Default — to control which payment methods show across channels. Manage them inside Stripe under Settings > Payment methods.

If Stripe is your default payment provider in Sparkforge, the system displays payment methods dynamically based on configurations Sparkforge sends to Stripe. You control which methods are on or off from your Stripe dashboard.

Supported payment methods

  • Cards
  • Apple Pay (registered domains required)
  • Google Pay
  • ACH Direct Debit
  • Affirm, Klarna, AfterPay (shipping address required)
  • Bancontact, iDEAL, SEPA Direct Debit
  • Link (registered domains required)
  • Amazon Pay
  • Revolut Pay (popular in UK)
  • Cash App, GrabPay (Malaysia), Zip (Australia)
  • BACS Direct Debit (UK), BECS Direct Debit (Australia), FPX (Malaysia)

Where to manage them in Stripe

In your Stripe dashboard, go to Settings > Connect > Payment methods > Your account. From the configuration dropdown, select the Sparkforge configurations — there are four.

The four Sparkforge configurations

  • Invoice — one-time invoices, recurring invoices with auto-pay off, and Text2Pay links. Defaults: Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH Direct Debit, Affirm, Klarna, AfterPay, Link, Amazon Pay, Revolut Pay.
  • InvoiceWithAutopayment — recurring invoices with auto-pay on. Defaults: Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH Direct Debit.
  • Store — online stores. Defaults: Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Affirm, Klarna, AfterPay, Link, Amazon Pay, Revolut Pay.
  • Default — 1-step and 2-step order forms, payment links, memberships, and communities. Defaults: Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, Amazon Pay, Revolut Pay.

Turn a method on or off

  1. Pick the right Sparkforge configuration in the dropdown.
  2. Click the payment method.
  3. Toggle it off (or on) and save.

Some methods may show as blocked — that means Sparkforge hasn't enabled them across all connected accounts yet.

Recurring payments and subscriptions

For a payment method to show on a subscription, enable it in two places:

  • Stripe: Settings > Payment Methods > Billing Payment Methods
  • Inside Sparkforge for the relevant configuration

Why this matters

Offering local payment methods improves conversion in international markets — iDEAL in the Netherlands, Bancontact in Belgium, SEPA Direct Debit across the EU. All transactions appear in the Payments menu like any card payment, and existing Order Submitted and Payment Received triggers fire normally. This applies only to businesses on Stripe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I manage Sparkforge's payment methods?
In your Stripe dashboard under Settings > Connect > Payment methods > Your account. Pick the right Sparkforge configuration from the dropdown.
Why is a payment method I enabled not showing up?
Either the method shows as blocked (Sparkforge hasn't enabled it on all connected accounts yet) or the wrong configuration was edited. Confirm the configuration matches the channel — Invoice, Store, etc.
What are the four Sparkforge configurations?
Invoice (one-time and Text2Pay), InvoiceWithAutopayment (recurring auto-pay), Store (online stores), and Default (order forms, payment links, memberships, communities).
Why don't my subscriptions show all my payment methods?
Subscriptions also need the method enabled under Stripe's Settings > Payment Methods > Billing Payment Methods, in addition to the Sparkforge configuration.
Does this work with PayPal or other providers?
No. Dynamic payment method display is Stripe-only. Other providers use their own checkout flows.
