How to Enable Instagram DMs for Sparkforge

Open the Instagram app, go to Settings > Privacy > Messages, and toggle on Allow Access to Messages. This lets Sparkforge and other connected apps manage DMs.

To bring Instagram DMs into Sparkforge, you have to grant message access at the Instagram account level. The setting lives inside the Instagram app and only applies to business or creator profiles connected to a Facebook Page.

Requirements

  • Instagram business or creator profile (not a personal profile).
  • Profile connected to a Facebook Page.
  • Access via Facebook Pages, Business Suite, Pages Manager App, Business Manager, Creator Studio, or a connected third-party app.

Enable Message Access

  1. Open the Instagram app and go to your business or creator profile.
  2. Tap the menu icon in the top right.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Tap Privacy.
  5. Tap Messages.
  6. Under Connected Tools, toggle on Allow Access to Messages.

Once enabled, Sparkforge and any other approved third-party app connected to your Facebook Business Suite or Creator Studio can read, reply to, and manage Instagram DMs.

If You Toggle It Off

You can only view and send Instagram DMs from inside the Instagram app. Sparkforge will lose access until you re-enable it.
