How to Run Instagram Ads from Sparkforge Ad Manager

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

To run Instagram ads from Sparkforge, connect your Instagram Business account to your Facebook page through Meta, then select the Instagram account when publishing a Meta campaign in Ad Manager.

Sparkforge Ad Manager publishes Instagram ads alongside Facebook ads in a single Meta campaign. Reporting, audience targeting, and budget all stay unified — Ad Manager treats Instagram as another placement under the same Facebook page.

Why run Instagram and Facebook together

  • Audience reach — Instagram skews younger and visual; Facebook covers a wider age band. Running both maximizes coverage.
  • Format variety — Stories on Instagram, Carousel and feed posts on Facebook, all from one campaign.
  • Cross-platform retargeting — a single audience can be retargeted across both placements.
  • Unified reporting — Ad Manager aggregates Facebook and Instagram performance in one dashboard.

Connect Instagram to a Facebook page

This step happens inside Meta, not Sparkforge. Once linked, the Instagram account is auto-selected whenever the Facebook page is used to publish.

Step 1: Switch Instagram to a professional account

Skip if your Instagram is already a Business or Creator account.

  1. Open Instagram and go to your profile.
  2. Tap the menu icon and open Settings and activity.
  3. Tap Account type and tools > Switch to professional account.
  4. Choose Business (recommended for ads) or Creator.
  5. Pick a category and complete the prompts.

Step 2: Link Instagram to your Facebook page

Easiest path is from Facebook page settings:

  1. Open your Facebook business page.
  2. Click Settings in the left sidebar.
  3. Open Linked Accounts > Instagram.
  4. Click Connect Account and log in to Instagram.
  5. Enable Allow Access to Messages & Connected Experiences.
  6. Click Confirm.

Alternative: in the Instagram app, open Edit Profile > Public Business Information > Page, then connect or create a Facebook page.

Step 3: Verify in Meta Business Suite

Open business.facebook.com > Settings > Instagram Accounts. Your Instagram should be listed. If not, click Add Instagram Account and re-link.

Note: only one Instagram account can be connected to a given Facebook page.

Publish ads on Instagram

  1. From Ad Manager, click Create Campaign and start a Meta campaign.
  2. Select the Facebook page that owns the ad. The default page is pre-selected — change it if needed.
  3. Choose the Instagram account:
    • If an Instagram account is already linked to that Facebook page, it auto-selects.
    • If not, pick Use Facebook page from the Instagram dropdown to inherit the page's name and profile picture.
  4. Configure placements. Auto selects all Instagram placements; Manual lets you pick specific ones.
  5. Build the ad creative, audience, budget, and schedule, then publish.

Preview your ad on Instagram by clicking the Instagram tab in the preview pane during creation.

Reporting

Instagram performance metrics appear in the same Ad Manager Statistics view as Facebook. Combined and per-platform metrics are available at both the overall and individual campaign level.

Disconnect Instagram from a page

To move an Instagram account to a different Facebook page, disconnect it inside Meta first. Once disconnected, link it to the new page using the steps above.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an Instagram account to run Instagram ads?
Not strictly. You can publish to Instagram using Use Facebook page mode, which inherits your Facebook page's name and profile picture. A linked Instagram Business account gives you a real Instagram identity in feed.
Can one Instagram account connect to multiple Facebook pages?
No. Meta allows one Instagram account per Facebook page. To move the Instagram account to a different page, disconnect it from the current page first.
Why isn't my Instagram showing up when I create a campaign?
Either Instagram isn't a Business or Creator account, or it isn't linked to the Facebook page selected for the ad. Verify both inside Meta Business Suite.
Where do I see Instagram-only metrics?
Open Ad Manager Statistics. Metrics roll up at campaign and account level with both combined and per-platform breakdowns.
