How to Set Up In-App Upsells in Sparkforge Memberships

In-app upsells display locked offers inside the My Library page of a Sparkforge membership. Members can purchase those offers directly, with a fully customizable upsell page covering details, course body, and instructor sections.

What an in-app upsell does

An in-app upsell shows additional offers directly inside the My Library page of a membership product. When a member logs in, they see locked products or course bundles they can buy. No separate sales page, no new flow.

Why use them

Promote relevant offers at high-engagement moments.
Surface other courses without sending another email.
Reduce checkout friction by keeping the offer in the app.
Customize the upsell page to match your brand.
Track conversion to see which offers actually move.

Set up an in-app upsell

Open Memberships. From the left navigation, click Memberships. From the top nav, click Courses, then Offers.
Edit the target offer. Find the offer you want to attach the upsell to, click the three-dot icon, and select Edit.
Open the Upsell tab in the offer editor and click + Add Upsell.
Choose In-App Upsell as the type and click Continue.
Pick the offer you want to surface in the library page and click Add Upsell Offer.

Customize the upsell page

After adding the upsell, click the palette icon under Actions to open the visual editor. Three tabs control the page:

Details

Set the main title and subtitle styling, alignment, font, and the upsell banner background. Configure the purchase button text and appearance here too.

Course Body

Edit the description title, course description content, curriculum title, and font styling. This is where you sell what's inside.

Instructor

Set fonts and background colors for the instructor name, title, bio, and section heading.

Preview, activate, and edit

Click Preview in the top right to see how the page renders for learners. When it looks right, switch the status to Active using the dropdown and click Save.

To change an upsell later, return to the Upsell tab, click the three-dot menu beside the upsell, and pick Edit or Delete.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add multiple in-app upsells to the same offer?

Yes. Attach as many upsells as you want to a single offer. Each appears as a locked tile in the My Library page so members can pick what they want.

Will members see an upsell they already purchased?

No. Once a member buys the underlying offer, it stops appearing as locked in My Library. Only unpurchased offers remain visible as upsells.

Can each upsell page be styled differently?

Yes. The visual editor lets you customize fonts, colors, layout, descriptions, and instructor details per upsell offer.

Which payment methods do in-app upsells support?

Any payment method configured in your Sparkforge checkout settings, including Stripe and PayPal.

Where does the upsell appear to the learner?

Inside the My Library page of the membership product. Members see locked offer tiles next to the courses they already own.
