How to Use Manual Payment Methods in Your Sparkforge Store

Manual Payment Methods let buyers complete checkout without paying online. They pay at pickup, delivery, or whenever you collect — cash, check, in-person card, whatever you accept. You record payment later from the order page.

Set up a manual payment method

1. Go to Payment > Integrations > Manual Payment Methods.
2. Choose Cash on Delivery or create a Custom Payment Method. You can set up both at once.
3. Optionally add Payment Instructions and Messages for the checkout page.
4. Enable the method for the Order Form, the E-commerce Store, or both. The method only appears at checkout where it is enabled.
5. Click Save.

Collect payment on a manual order

1. Go to Payment > Orders and open the order.
2. Click Collect Payment.
3. Choose the Payment Mode from the dropdown and add optional notes.
4. Save. The transaction status updates and the payment mode is recorded on the order.

Things to know

• You need an existing payment integration connected before you can set up manual payment methods.
• Manual methods do not appear at checkout for recurring products.
• The Collect Payment flow only applies to manual orders. Once an order is marked as paid, the action cannot be reverted.
• If a method is not enabled for either store type, it will not appear at checkout.
