Edit Email Templates Inside the Workflow Send Email Action
The email template builder is now embedded inside the workflow <strong>Send Email</strong> action, so you can view and edit a template without bouncing out to the templates section.
The email template builder lives inside the workflow Send Email action. Open the action, edit the template, save, and keep going — no tab-switching to the standalone Email Templates screen.
What changed
- Inline editing: view and edit templates without leaving the workflow.
- One-screen flow: design, attach, and save the template in the same place you configure the action.
How to use it
- Open the workflow and add or edit a Send Email action.
- Pick an existing template or create a new one inline.
- Edit the template directly in the action panel.
- Save. The workflow uses the updated template immediately.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are template edits scoped to this workflow only?
No. Editing the template here updates the underlying email template, so any other workflow or campaign using the same template gets the change too.
Can I still manage templates in the standalone Email Templates section?
Yes. The standalone Email Templates section still works. The new inline editor is an additional path, not a replacement.
Do I need to publish the workflow after editing the template?
Only if the workflow itself is in Draft. Template edits save immediately to the template record — no separate publish step for the email content.
Does this work for SMS templates too?
No. The inline builder is for email. SMS templates are configured in the Send SMS action with the SMS template controls.
