How to Connect Google Calendar to Sparkforge
Connect Google Calendar from Calendars > Calendar Settings > Connections. Each user authorizes their own account and must grant full read/write access for two-way sync to work.
Google Calendar two-way syncs with Sparkforge so booked appointments appear on both sides and conflicts block out automatically. Each user authorizes their own Google account — calendar connections are per-profile, not company-wide.
What you get
- Real-time appointment sync between Google Calendar and Sparkforge.
- Two-way sync that keeps both calendars aligned.
- Conflict calendars that block availability based on existing Google events.
- Per-user calendar selection so each team member's bookings hit the right calendar.
Before you start
- A Google account (personal Gmail or Google Workspace both work).
- Admin or user access to Sparkforge calendar settings.
- The calendar you're connecting can't have conflicting share permissions.
Connect Google Calendar
Step 1: Open Calendar Connections
- From your sub-account, click Calendars in the left nav.
- Click Calendar Settings in the upper right.
- Open the Connections tab and click + Add New.
Step 2: Authenticate with Google
- Click Connect beside Google Calendar.
- Pick the Google account you want to use.
- Accept all requested permissions: Calendar (read/write), Profile, and Email.
Important: Google sometimes lets you grant only partial permissions. If write access isn't granted, sync will fail silently. If anything looks off later, go to Settings > Integrations > Google, look for the missing-permissions warning, and click Reconnect.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why isn't my Google Calendar syncing?
Most often it's missing permissions — Google let you grant partial access at connection time. Go to Settings > Integrations > Google, look for the warning, and use Reconnect to grant the full set.
Can multiple users share one Google Calendar in Sparkforge?
No. Calendar integrations are tied to user profiles, not the company. Each user connects their own Google Calendar.
Can I sync more than one Google Calendar?
Yes. Set one as the Linked Calendar (where new bookings get written) and add others as Conflict Calendars to block availability against existing events.
Does this work with Google Workspace and personal Gmail?
Both. The integration treats them the same — just authorize the right account during setup.
What breaks Google Calendar sync after it was working?
Three things: token expiry, the source calendar getting deleted, or permissions being revoked after the original connection. Reconnect from Settings > Integrations to recover.
