How to Inject User and Sub-Account Properties into Dashboard Iframes

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Use {{location.id}}, {{location.name}}, and {{user.firstName}}-style placeholders inside an Embed object's URL on a Sparkforge sub-account dashboard to pass dynamic context into iframes.

Sparkforge sub-account dashboards can pass dynamic user and sub-account properties into embedded iframes. Use placeholder syntax in the embed URL and Sparkforge substitutes real values at render time.

Add an embed with dynamic parameters

  1. Enter Edit mode on the sub-account dashboard.
  2. Open the Objects tab.
  3. Pick Embed.
  4. Paste the URL of the content you want to embed.
  5. Add query parameters as needed.
  6. Use placeholders inside the URL to inject dynamic values.

Sub-account placeholders

Use {{location.id}} or {{location.name}} to inject the sub-account identifier. For example:

https://app.sparkforge.com/v2/location/{{location.id}}/conversations

That URL becomes a working iframe link that resolves to the current sub-account.

Supported user placeholders

Use {{user.<property>}} with any of the following property names:

  • companyId
  • email
  • phone
  • role
  • type
  • firstName
  • lastName
  • name
  • fullName

Example: https://your-site.com/?user={{user.firstName}} passes the viewer's first name into the embedded URL.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which placeholders can I use in a dashboard iframe URL?
Sub-account placeholders ({{location.id}}, {{location.name}}) and user placeholders ({{user.firstName}}, {{user.email}}, {{user.role}}, {{user.companyId}}, and several others).
Where do I add the embed object?
Open the sub-account dashboard, enter Edit mode, click the Objects tab, and pick Embed. Paste the URL with placeholders and parameters there.
Can I use these placeholders in any iframe URL?
Yes — anywhere in the URL, including the path or query string. Sparkforge substitutes the actual value when the dashboard renders for a user.
What happens if a user property isn't set?
The placeholder resolves to an empty value. Test with a real user account that has the fields populated to avoid broken parameters.
